A great revisit to the timeless classic. The Story and Game-play are historically accurate but with some new mechanics and polish that the original game could not offer during its time. This will be my third time through the story, Original, Source Remaster and now Black Mesa and I must say this was just as enjoyable as the first time I got pulled into the life of Gordon Freeman.

I only ever played the first AC game, which I enjoyed. However it always seemed that all of the following games didn't really interest me as there was no new dynamic to pull me in. DISCLAIMER: I really enjoy Pirate genre in games, books and movies, so I am reviewing this game as a stand alone game in this genre. I will not compare it to other AC titles as I mentioned before I only played the first.

I bought the game on "sail" so I can only comment its value at the price range I bought it and have only put a handful of hours into it. AC:BF sucked me right in, decent story and action right from the word go. The fighting is enjoyable and the sailing while arcade-y and unrealistic does a great job of capturing a lot of aspects of combat sailing in an easy to digest format. You feel like you are accomplishing something every battle at sea and it gets even more exciting the higher above your level you fight.

There are some weird and rough movement issues and some jacked animations when your character doesn't know to jump or climb, however I feel the more you play the more you and predict the proper paths to avoid any glitchy pathing.

Over all this is a very enjoy able game by itself even if you remove the franchise history from its heritage.

9/10 super looking forward to finishing this journey.

What a great surprising game, bought it on sale as a helicopter game enthusiast. I knew it was more arcade than simulation. First time I played the game I didn't get it to be honest. However one I learned the dynamics of the game it really is quite enjoyable for small 30min play sessions and multi hour sessions alike.
