Some scientist named Gordon manages to single-handedly fight off an entire military force as well as defeat a giant all-powerful alien and his armies... After dying and loading quicksaves hundreds of times that is.

Overall, a game with great charm, with very compelling world building that keeps you immersed despite the outdated graphics. However, some levels were definitely better than others and the gameplay could get repetitive at times... I'm looking at you endless ventilation shafts!

Imagine TF2 where you can only play as sniper, and there are no health packs or respawning. Yeaah

Wow!

- The puzzles are unique and engaging, with a perfect balance of ease and challenge.
- The game has a real sense of progression, as your character cleverly alternates between different objectives, companions/guides and surroundings.
- The atmosphere of the game is extremely immersive. Reasons for this include the incredible design of the vast 'Aperture Science facility' and the immaculate voice acting.
- The comedy is very well written, even by Valve's standards.
- Combustible lemons.
