Marathons art style is awesome, the sound is crazy cool and fits the universe they built extremely well. I REALLY wanted to get the most out of the server slam but the accessibility options just weren't great for me specifically.
I'm a true left-handed gamer, so my "WASD" is the complete opposite " PL:" ". I know, weird, but its how I learned to play during my MMO days and I've stuck with it ever since. I've even got a left-handed Razor Naga so I don't have to reach all the way across the keyboard for my binds like 1-4. I downloaded the server slam, got onto the game and got spit right into a raid, where I had to basically boot myself to the main menu because I needed to change my key binds to fit my playstyle. cool, not anything out of the ordinary for myself, I change all of my key binds for every game that I play.
There's a couple of problems I immediately noticed as I'm changing specific key binds though. some keys are hard-bound and generalized, and by that I mean that if I hit the RIGHT CTRL because that's normally my crouch/slide in other games, it treats it as LEFT CTRL automatically and it'll just be stated as CTRL in the bind list. Same situation for the ALT key, its not stated as RIGHT ALT or LEFT ALT its just ALT. My inventory, is usually ENTER but the ENTER key is hard-bound and cannot be changed. Right off the bat some VERY important keys that are vital for my playstyle are immediately taken from me, that sucked bad because I REALLY wanted to play this game. And yeah you can say " oh just play with a controller" but I don't want to do that. A company that's made this much improvement in the last year with a game that had a majority of people saying bad things about it to where this game is NOW, literally a day away from launch, its in such a better place now and I really wanted to experience that, and it was a huge oversight on whoever deals with accessibility options over at Bungie.
The "simple" fix is just please come out with some patch notes that make all hard-bound keys no longer hard-bound, let people play how they want, I absolutely don't want to give this game a bad rep for something like this.

Early Access Review
Firstly I'd like to say that I'm fully aware that this game is in its very early stages, but I'd still like to give my experience with this game in the admittedly little time I have played it.

The very first thing that I had noticed is that this game has very little consideration of key bind configuration for left handed people, I am more of a unique case compared to others simply because I have completely custom key binds comparably to my friends, so much so that they call me a demon for it. key binds are complete opposites for me, for example (w,a,s,d,) is (p,l,;,') so on and so forth. So to my surprise when I got into the game to change my key binds only to find out that some key binds are non-configurable, such as the Inventory key bind, it was a surprise. I played around it, but it wasn't enjoyable. In the future I would absolutely love fully configurable key binds and please don't make key binds non-configurable, it limits people that like to play a certain way or can't play with the default key binds because of a disability or otherwise, please consider this change.

The Second thing was performance (I know, Early Access and all that). My PC is as follows, I7 8700k, 3080TI 12GB, 32GB Ram. I don't have "top of the line PC parts" but they do perfectly fine in any other game I've been in. It wasn't that the game was running terribly but it was far from good. Constant stuttering from my character with any type of movement (Probably a server issue) and every time I would make my way to a new quadrant of the map there was a GIANT lag spike for maybe 5-10 seconds of frozen screen, then boom back to 110 FPS, I was using FSR in-game and I had the best results with that (110-140 FPS), any of the other AA options lowered my FPS all the way down to 30-60. Again I want to reiterate that I'm aware that its literally the first day of this game being out but whats a game release without a little criticism.

The third and last thing, The movement and AI. My goodness, when I first got into the game and moved around it was clunky, the FOV feels farther away that it should, guns feel small in the perspective of the shooter. It felt like every action took half a second to go through. Moving, shooting, jumping, crouching (you get the point) it needs work.
The AI, is at the same time the most stupid, predictive pathing, bullet spongy mess and at the same time I can come around a corner and get 1 tapped by an AI I never saw. Also there is not incentive to loot these AI because they all have very similar loot tables, and your PMC can only carry so much weight, I didn't find it worth it.

There are many other parts of this game that I didn't experience, such as quests and PVP. I can't give an opinion on something that I haven't experienced yet but for the things I have experienced I definitely can. This game needs work, and I don't doubt that the game will be better a couple months down the line, hell maybe even sooner.

For now, for me, I will say that this game is not worth buying. As with most early access games, things are subject to change and bugs need fixing. I hope both you and the devs find this review helpful, thanks for letting me play your game.
