It's not finished.

To clarify, it's not like Baldur's Gate 3 that was "unfinished" because they cut out half of act 3, it's unfinished in the sense that you cannot actually complete the game at the time of this review without save editing to manually set quest flags and force yourself back to the world map to advance.

If you want a power fantasy CRPG you could try Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, that's finished. It wasn't when it came out either, honestly its launch was even rockier than this one I think. I'll update this review in a few months when they finally fix all the bugs and missing quest flags but for the time being this is not a complete game.

My heart breaks for the console players who can't brute force their way past the unresolving quest bugs with save editing.

This game was a perfect 10 until you realize it's unfinished. Still give it a nine though.

Ohoho, now this is the good ♥♥♥♥. Obsidian does it again...again!
What I expected: God=bad?
What I got: A really nuanced take on colonialism and the impact that foreign interests have on native cultures...but also God=bad

Super good, lots to do, and you can finally romance Aloth! Or one of the girls, they're great too! Great game, replayability is not super deep barring a few plot points, but it's definitely worth the price tag.

Ah hell yeah, Obsidian does it again! Classic game, great setting and characters. Sure it feels a little dated but like honestly do it for the story and for the game tying directly into the sequel. The scene: Revenge, with guns AND ghosts? How droll...

Just kidding it's great, feels a little shallow at first because it follows the ol' "God is bad?" but it also dips into "science is weird and therefore also bad"! jk jk it's really good. If you're not vibing with it because it feels too old and clunky, feel free to skip to the sequel. Everyone tells you the game ties directly into it, but the sequel lets you set most of the story flags from the first, like Bioware lets you do for Dragon Age: Inquisition, and Mass Effect 3.

Phenomenal, Owlcat does it again! 420+ hours is kind of a meme but the game has a lot of replay value so it's not really a meme. Great customization, the unfair mode is actually unfair, you can romance like half the party, what more could you ask for? ...okay maybe you could ask for the lategame mythic stories to not be ♥♥♥♥ but hey, they'll fix it in the enhanced edition. (They did not fix it in the enhanced edition)

Definitely buy the game if you want a CRPG with a really deep and convoluted ruleset about stacking buffs and domains and other ♥♥♥♥ nobody cares about, and if you don't then just play it on normal lmao.

(the DLCs kinda suck so far but hey its not the worst thing in the world)

God I wish they finished this game. Restored content mod comes close, though. Absolutely positively worth the $10 that steam charges for it.

What I got: DMC 3 for kids
