Amazing remake...until Xen.
The amount of puzzles after puzzles after puzzles on top of the design layout being weirder and less sense making than the original half life made me very annoyed. There should not have been needed to do 3 times of the same bloody puzzle, with just an increased "difficulty".
The extra added enemies I would say they did not needed to be there, it was just added padding for the cost of just fighting a version of another enemy on steroids...

Aside from that I enjoyed the things beforehand.

Surprisingly disappointing in both performance and looks. The only thing that looked different or better than the original hl2 was the lighting from the guns

Bought it standalone, and it is most definitely one of the best MMOs out there. Maybe even the best after how WoW is butchered now.
The only issue I got is that it can be relatively confusing on what to do but the community is very helpful

Combat/gameplay is very meh, which is a huge chunk of an MMORPG

The tutorial is incomprehensible, the game wants to run as administrator otherwise it simply crashes at startup, and it lacks some important voice acting in order to make some things bearable.
Even though its a pretty and what seems to be in-depth game, I cant recommend this.

People had said that the story is not good, but the combat is good.
I couldnt play more than a few hours just because of how poor everything is.
The performance, the storytelling, and the surprisingly appalling mouse and keyboard controls.

The only nice thing about the game is the graphics...which is not that good since it looks like a game from pre-2020

Great game.
Many things to do, huge world, a lot of quality of life items and mechanics that got added after early access which makes it very nice to play, and a surprisingly nice feeling combat.

Practically a top-down Terraria with similarities in combat to Minecraft

It aged like milk.
The meta slave is insane, theres obvious cheating, the graphics are somehow worse (the new update thats supposed to improved them made them worse in places), and the devs not knowing how to properly balance loadouts or fix stuff like mouse and keyboard flight controls since launch has made it extremely average of a game.

At least its "free", if you ignore the insane grind to get to a decent state of a single loadout

While it has some of the base skin of the original HL1; this one is quite pathetic in level, sound, weapon, AND enemy design.
It was honestly boring to play after 1/3 of the game

Very fun experience, easily can spend a thousand hours before you check out most of the stuff.
Though needs more performance optimzations on the expansion and faster content updates
