SPOILER FREE: There's something about this game that really scratched an itch for me I didn't know I needed scratched so badly. This game is an amazing example of how well a First Person Platformer can be when handled correctly. The atmosphere of this game is dripping from every pore, the music sets the tone for the areas incredibly well, and this goes doubly so for the final level. The story of this game, the name of this game, and everything about its lore is all tightly intertwined, you'll find yourself flying over chasms of empty space to skid off of metal plates in order to make a jump for a piece of rebar hanging out of a wall just to find out a little more about this games story and characters, and you'll always be wanting for more, taking you to more and more dangerous and incredible places through seemingly impossible to traverse terrain. I would rate this game an amazing 8/10 for its story, its visuals, its atmosphere, its price point and the kind of gameplay that I didn't know I wanted so much more of when done so well. Would recommend!

Here's my review: Indie Game of the Year 2023. Absolute blast from start to finish. Can't wait to see more from Kira after this absolute gem of a game. This should be in your steam library and you should already be playing it. It's just that simple.

This is not a drill. This is one of the most complex games ever created. It's hard to call it a game when you start to understand it at a deeper level. This is a Fantasy World Generator/Simulator, which doesn't fit neatly into the box of many of its contemporaries that came after it. This is the game that inspired Minecraft. This is the game that inspired Infiniminer. All rivers flow from one source and this is that source. Are you looking for a fantasy war simulator where you take on huge sieges at your own base? This is that game. Are you looking to create a peaceful utopia where all the games races and peoples can come together to drink and be merry? This is that game. Are you looking for a game where the world you exist in has thousands of years of recorded, readable, discernible history that you can read from start to finish? This is that game. Each world you generate can be any of the above, or more. Want a fort designed around just selling musical instruments? Done. Want to focus a fort on living aboveground instead of underground, building on the surface a more human-style fortress with walls and gates and bridges? This. Is. That. Game.

This game is amazing. A mix of survival (in the sense that you must eat, you must have a varied diet to avoid certain immunity effects, you must stop things like bleeding, or fix broken bones, must sleep, stay hydrated, things along these lines) alongside traditional roguelike elements. A semi-randomly generated map, akin to something like Tales of Maj'Eyal, (in that some locations are never in the same location and are generated in a different location; leading to each playthrough and subsequent generation of your own playthroughs map feel unique) as well as a grid-based movement system, a health/mana bar, many different weapons of many different types, unique clothing and armor, differing classes with backstories and genders that effect how you are perceived in the world around you (For example, I am currently playing as a female sorcerer who is a mercenary; this is considered very strange in the games world and guards and others react to my characters presence accordingly). Speaking of magic, there are multiple different types of magic available should you choose to upgrade your character along those lines (Geomancy, Pyromancy, Cryomancy, Chronomancy, Electromancy, Venomancy, etc) all with their own pluses and minuses to how you might best utilize their strengths, leading to interesting player combination choices like a melee fighter that uses electromancy to buff their damage while using dual maces, giving the player the added benefits. Alongside the former I just mentioned the game is also beautiful. The pixel work is top notch, the sound design is amazing, I remember feeling genuinely intimidated upon entering the area a very powerful foe lurked in simply because the music set the mood of the fight and area so perfectly. This game is tough, but it is incredibly rewarding if you stick with it and learn from your mistakes. You're going to lose at first, but losing and getting knocked down is how you stand back up on your own two feet and learn to handle the next problem thrown at you. Don't get it twisted, I know there's a lot of people that aren't into punishing games, and this game might feel that way to someone unprepared, but if you take the time to learn the systems and think about the actions and moves you take, you will conquer this game through willpower and perseverance. Couldn't suggest the game enough, highly suggest you check it out.

Been playing this game for years, and the constant build up of content has only made to better the game, as this game gets further and further along in development and we close in on the date of the multiplayer release, this game will only continue to shine as one of the best, if not THE best "Zombie Survival Simulator" there is out there. Outstanding game, just make sure to either wait for the full release if you're looking for a multiplayer experience, or get it now and understand that the game is still under development. It's like a gem that's being cut, you must go through the appropriate steps in order to make it shine ---Let the devs give this gem the real luster it has the potential for!

Essentially the best game of this type to ever come out. This is more or less the magnum opus of this game genre and nothing even comes close to it. Honorable mention to Enter the Gungeon for being a fantastic game with a fantastic theme, but this game still takes the cake for the sheer quantity of characters, items, interactions, bosses, game modes, secrets, easter eggs and just about every other damn thing you could toss into a metric like that, the game has massive content, that cannot be denied, but besides just being packed to the brim it's also incredibly fun and strategic at the same time, getting used to all the of the different enemies and bosses gives you a sense of great progression when playing the game, and with the edition of some very hard secret characters that can be unlocked you can essentially choose your own difficulty level. Understanding the games general thought process behind secret room generation and the like can also be a huge boon in both the general amount of items you receive on a given play through, as well as that sweet, sweet feeling of further mastering the game on a deeper level.
