My wife was out of town last week for a conference, so my son and I were the only ones in the house. I really wanted to play CoD, so when my son came home from school on Friday I locked him in a gardening shed near the back of my house (I had already put a bucket, some granola bars and a bottle of water in there ahead of time).

My weekend was pretty awesome, and I had a great time eating pizza, drinking beer and gaming with friends. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and I had to let my son out in the wee hours of Monday morning.

My son ended up telling my wife when she came home; she yelled at me and threatened to call Child Protective Services. I explained that I deserved a break and that I never got time to game with my friends, but she only yelled louder. I thought this was pretty unreasonable and wish she would try to see things from my perspective. Anyways, I need your advice reddit: was I the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ or is my wife just overreacting?
