it's just that large part of the userbase in gaming subreddit or anywhere in general is made up of kids and they have all the free time in the world to appreaciate games, that's why they settle for difficult stuff that entertains them for longer compared to easier or slower games on average.
i honestly don't care about difficulty, when i have free time to game i want it to be meaningful when spending hours clashing against a single boss was cool and motivating back in the day
now it's frustrating and pointless because surely there was a better way to use my free time, so in time i parted ways from more hardcore experience towards easier, quicker and more flavorful experiences.
