Some seriously fun nostalgic classic style game It's like the love child of Serious Sam, Quake & Doom all wrapped up in a challenging arena enemy wave style game. With a mix of classes, play styles and perks. Its a lot of retro fun for anyone wanting to dip back into this late 90s era artwork style game. Highly Recommend

A great 5-6 hrs thriller that requires puzzle solving and quick thinking to navigate through. I recommend doing this as a single play-through. I honestly wish it was about 2-3 times longer with even more story. It brought me right back to my first time playing Pathways into Darkness all those years ago.

Early Access Review
Sunkenland had huge potential. having spent hundreds of hours in games such as Subnautica, Ark, Icurus and other similar survival games. Sunkenland has the potential to stand out and do something different and unique. Im 45 hours in and have completed and unlocked almost everything the current early access version has to offer.

This list below is a mix of suggestions, bugs and items from my time so far playing.

- The concept of NPC raids is fun and a good idea that needs a lot of expanding upon. Its very basic and can be "cheesed" with clever base building at the moment. Maybe adding inter tribe raids not just NPC raids against the players. It would be fun to stumble upon 2 factions having a huge island battle against each other. NPC using boats?
- Once you kill all the NPCs the game suddenly becomes empty, yet you can keep re-looting with no risk.
- There is minimal incentive to go underwater unless its absolutely necessary. Maybe adding some kind of story elements to discover as well as maybe adding some extra crafting materials that can only come from underwater for high end items.
- Theme the under water zones with unique animals/fish for a better scale of zone difficulty. Right now you can just swim everywhere at any time and a knife will defeat anything that even sniffs you.
- Deeper and more floral diverse under water zones,
- If you drop a currently equipped bag with gear in it, it vanishes and along everything that was in it.
- Better NPC item threat prioritising. Right now you can cheese them into shooting a wall and ignoring more critical player items.
- NPC's stealing player boats? (for the lols)
- Better food, water and oxygen balancing. Right now it feels a little too fast at depleting even if you are standing still.
- Character clothing/armour be shown on select screen. Currently you are just in underwear. (My wife gave me a concerned look)
- Larger crop planters.
- Weather. Icurus levels of weather would make this game insane! Thunderstorms, rain and dynamic sea conditions etc.

50+ hours in, Here is The Good, The Bad & The Ugly.
THE GOOD:
A true return to the old days of 2000's NFS fun and cars. An incredible selection of cars sure to hit home for any generations NFS Fan. MANUAL GEARS!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe this took so F?#king long to re-add into a racing game! It never made sense to have it removed and turned 2010's Hot Pursuit into a depressing and waste of money for any classic NFS racer. The fact Ferrari, the most notoriously difficult brand to agree to feature cars in "arcade racers" is here also speaks volumes.

THE BAD:
It has annoying unskippable dialog that overrides & lower normal game audio a lot. I found the only way to fix it was to set speech to 0%. however this means you will miss ALL dialog and you can find youself in a few circumstances without context this way. But its still better than unskippable voice overs and random new & radio chatter.

Some of the late game races have bugs that can be frustrating were you can win then by a tiny margin at high speed. If you are "online" the game may register the 2nd place car as the winner instead of you even know you physically see you car cross the line first.

The Police can also be easily beat with simple map/world/building geometry tricks.

THE UGLY:
The "crash" physics game code stupidly engineered. It forces upon you a bugger at best "FAKE" crash for almost any impact above 100kmph. You can have the tiniest glancing blows, yet your car will enter a 3rd person view and be forcefully flipped in a manor totally disconnected from the type of glancing blow you had. This forces you back to 2nd gear speeds and often directly in the line of fire of your opponents who then smash into you causing a second or 3rd crash/flip. Yet.... you can smash head on at 350kmph+ into a cop, and their car gracefully looses all physical weight and lifts up out of your way allowing you to continue at the same full speed.

The game may have many bugs and issues. but its foundation is there and so is the potential. It's a futuristic open world sand box (similar to GTA 5) with tons of fun and engaging story and a side mission system that will keep you coming back for more. I just really hope they fix the issues and add back all the cut/missing content the game was tailored towards. If not, its replayability maybe short lived.

One of the best casual exploration, survival games of the decade. It may be on the simplistic side in terms of difficulty. But that only adds the to relaxing nature at which you can play this game. It has enough sense of danger and wonder to keep you coming back or more. I'm 300 hours in, and i still feel like coming back for more. I just hope that can replicate this in the Sub Zero.

Sadly this game has a very bad story. Game play is bascially Far Cry 2 but with more sniper rifles. talent tree is useless, you can get through the entire game with the starting sniper rilfe & pistol. crafting/looting craft items is a wasted mechanic as you gain to much currency you can just stay stocked up by buying ammo. Very glitchy and buggy at times. The tombraider like wall climbing is horrendous and sending you falling to your death when the system fails to recognize for direction input when traversing multiple ledges that require a jump inbetween. All the side quests & captrue zones can be totally skipped and serve as no function other than to lame attempt to stretch out to weak short main story. Bullet Cam allow you to enter slo-mo to watch your bullet impact, sadly it doesnt slo-mo enermies which means if you are being targeted by multiple enermies at once and you enter slo mo they keep shooting at you while your in slo-mo and you can't manually cancel the bullet cam to avoid it. Turning bullet cam off however means its extremly hard to hit moving targets beyond 300m as they red/orange "lead target" reticle doesn't accuratly match moving enermies. TLDR buy Sniper Elite instead It's a much more enjoyable game.

If you are reading this and you are like me and have been sadly very disappointed by the recent F1 games here is what you need to know.

9/10 - Season & Career single player modes are both in-depth & immersive.
7/10 - AI has been greatly improved, It's still not human but it's the closest it has ever been. (keep an eye out for AI in the wet, they drive like they are in the dry)
8/10 - Visually the game is stunning even at 4K or 21:9 & wider. (still clearly bound by console fidelity)
9/10 - Engine Sound, yes its the turbo era, But Codemasters have nailed the sound even down the finest of engine/turbo details. They really did some work here.
8/10 - Atmosphere sound is rich and immersive with great menu music & some of the best commentary the franchise has ever featured. (Sadly no Martin Brundle or Ted Kravitz)
8/10 - Racing Wheel & Pedal FFB & feeling is great. It's not Assetto Corsa but even a finely tuned Fanatec wheel owner can still enjoy some of the detailed rear wheel slip or kerb feeling.
7/10 - Car Handling and Physics are improved. Again this isn't Assetto Corsa or iRacing level. Dry racing is still on rails, wet weather feel has seen some improvements and feel more challenging & rewarding when perfected.
8/10 - Track design has finally been updated to better represent the real life counter-parts. Some tracks had previously not seen layout updates they where first implemented in F1 2010. Melbourne T10 to T11 no longer has grass against the wall. FINALLY!!!!!!
9/10 - Voice Command, This feature seems trivial. But it simply works, see the list of valid commands below and make sure you speak with a clear tone of voice into your mic. "Leave Me Alone" & "Shut Up Jeff" are genuinely valid responses just FYI. LOL!!!

Overall this franchise has finally seen some love & revitalization it badly needed. While I understand the difficulties of a yearly cycle, this looks like a game they spent 2 years making not 12 months.

*At time of writing I have not tested multiplayer/netcode. I will update once tested.
