Battlefield, but the field is the size of a soccer stadium.
This the best Call of Duty game in a long while.

- the menu.
- the store.
- the neon so called grounded skins.
- the almost no unlocks for air vehicles.
- the open weapons.
- weapon packages.
- bugs that are persistent since beta.
- Small maps built for head on confrontation without flanking.
- The power that SMG have over other guns due to bloom and fire rate.
- The long tedious "challenges" clearly made for player retention (essential class gadgets locked behind those)
- The base game modes like hardpoint, euhm i mean king of the hill. or squad deathmatch, maybe team deathmatch?
- The free to play additions like Gauntlet and Battle royale.
- The battle royale having a bigger feeling of large scale sandbox with destruction compared to maps like Saint's quarter (one of the 9 maps that is only playable on certain game modes)
- Not all game modes are on all maps (even thought they should be possible like escalation on the new s1 map)

The list goes on and on and on man what is this for a battlefield game?
Yeah yeah, but my playing time. Listen: i am tired just like you of SBMM in cod and it's identity crisis and i crave a solid shooter to take the edge off and while the gunplay and sound is good in this game, it's overshadowed by the blatant cod-ification of the series by the obvious direction they are going with certain things. The foundation is good and all above issues can be fixed over time but as it stands, if you can i would advise to wait out until a sale or just try the battle royale/gauntlet to get a feel for the game's sound and gunplay (not you bloom).

Memory leaks.
Bad performance.
No leaver penalty.
No vote to surrender.
No saving in campaign.
No proper skirmish vs AI.
Only 1 game mode
No smaller map sizes for different amounts of players in a match.
Forced 5v5 in matchmaking.
Slow updates.
Some updates on their paid patreon.
Problems from pre-release tests are still there on release and even now, almost 2.5 months after.
The list goes on and on.

Currently I don't advise this game to anyone unless you are a fan of games like War Thunder (unit loadouts), Warno, and World in Conflict, and even then the steep price tag for the ridiculously low amount of (QoL and essential) content and speed of updates is just not worth it at all.
Wait for more updates, and definitely, definitely wait for a (steep) sale.

Early Access Review
Scum 1.0 released on june 19th together with it's dedicated server files to host your own private server, today i verified this by joining said friends private server and it worked. In light of the changes made by Gamepires i'm changing this review from negative to positive. I still do wonder why some updates happened and looking at the future i'm still unsure, but for now i shall make it positive because this has been the biggest drawback of the game for me and my friends. Will keep old review up for now.

Old review:
After years in early access, still no hosting your own server.

The game's development hasn't been great and i had put it aside in the hope of eventually hosting my own server with friends. Well it's been some years and still no hosting server.

I can not give this game a positive review after waiting years, with updates that are questionable and sometimes are downright one step forward and two steps back.

3654 hours playtime as of writing this review (steam doesnt update playtme with account playtime from nxt client)

wow where to begin, most of us might remember runescape from our childhood, a very big amount of players have left the game for a multitude of reasons wheter it be because of some update or because loss of interest, growing up etc.

i have always been on and off of runescape for the past 15 years and i have played many mmorpgs troughout those years but none come close to runescape.

lets distinguish what makes runescape so different, well for starters it uses a click based tile system for its movement.
the quest are quite something, unlike most mmo games where the quests are rather generic and stuff like: go here and do this, go there and do that etc in runescape quests have real lore behind it, the lore of gielinor and its gods.
how guthix came to its end and how the elder gods came to rise, tons and tons of unique and interesting questlines like the elven series leading to priffdinas or the dwarven series leading to misthalin etc.
and the rewards of said quests allow you to do new ways of skilling or new areas of skiling.\

most mmo games have a grind to reach endgame and thats where the game really unlocks. here in runescape there is no real endgame, the whole journey is filled with tons of unique content and things to do.

it is the most versatile mmo that i know, you can be someone that purely focuses on combat or u can be someone that focuses on the pletora of skills available in game.
you are not like traditional mmorpg games locked to a specific race and class, here in runescape everyone is human but the class oh boy, the triangle of combat : it goes as follows magic beats melee and melee beats ranged and ranged beats magic, u get the idea? good so if u want to be a wizard u can just train the magic skill in order to get beter magic damage and perhapes new magic styles but say youre bored of being a wizard, just take out a bow and train ranged and now u are an archer. its so open to doing what you want bundled together with the freedom of the games map (its huge).

its also free but as mentioned in the begining this review is from a members perspective, u can get membership by buying it from the site or buying bonds and converting membership, u can also buy membership by buying bonds in game and converting to membership or u can find other less legal ways to get your membership, hey you choose.

the game however has mictrotransactions in the form of keys, now this isnt pay to win but it is pay to progress, if u want u can buy these keys in order to level up faster, since the introduction of mtx a lot of the players got divided and started to leave runescape for it and i get that but i also understand that runescape is a live service mmo that does not do payed expansions and does weeky updates for the past 20 years, how are they going to get an income if not for the players? anyway its up to u to decide wheter or not the mtx in this game is to much or not.

runescape has a lot to offer for the mmorpg fan but there is not even space to write everything good and bad about runescape, its perhaps best to look up impressions and reviews on youtube with footage of the game itself

have you ever wanted to be a leader of a ww2 country?
have you ever wondered what the world would be if america went fascist?
wanted to resurrect the ottoman empire?

look no further as hearts of iron 4 has it all, this is what you call a grand strategy game, everything in this game revolves around fighting wars with other countries and managing every aspect of it, from the supply lines to the generals, the fallback lines the offensive lines, production etc u name it.

there is ofcourse insane replayability by choosing different countries and ideologies and this is without factoring in amazing mods like road to 56 or kaisserreich.
yes the game has mod support and it has some wild stuff, every saw man in the high castle and wanted to see how it went forwards after the tv shows ending? wanted to squash isis before they gained any foothold? how about u just want the cold war to have started? its all there.

and then you have the multiplayer and oh boy is it something : beware that in order to play most multiplayer games u need quite some playing time on this game, we are talking about 300-500+ hours to fully understand everything about this game and its metas.

the downside is that this is a game from paradox interactive wich means that a lot of features that couldve been part of the main game have been added in as payed dlc and these dlc can be quite hefty considering how many there are wich is quite unfortunate however the base game itself has plenty of content and replayability so even tough u dont need the dlc it can be a more fun experience.
