My review for this game would be more mixed than anything at this point in time. While it's got a strong foundation, (now that the server issues have GENERALLY been fixed) I would say that the game still leaves a lot to be desired. Sure, you could say that's largely due to it not having the number of heists as Payday 2, but I would also say the variety within the current heists is also just lacking in general. Loud on every heist kind of feels like you are doing the exact same thing in a different location. This would be fine if loud builds had enough variety to carry otherwise average gameplay, but at the moment most builds just boil down to "Get a skill that lets you get one of the three buffs, then have a skill that benefits from/helps you maintain the buff. Now do that for all 3 and you have a build basically."

I will say that stealth is vastly better than loud in this game, and way better than it was in Payday 2. Most of the heists in Payday 3 feel like they were developed with stealth in mind and loud as an afterthought. Even with saying that, there still could be more variety between each stealth heist too, with a lot of them just boiling down to get the keycard/keycode and enter the place and do a thing. Still way more fun in comparison than loud.

Another thing is that the presentation in this game is all over the place. Most of the menus look like something you would see in an early play test. Why you would lay out the storefront in the way that they did as opposed to having layered menus like Payday 2 had is beyond me. Having the heists lain out in a line is more of an annoyance than anything, especially because of how it defaults to having the cutscenes visible (just minor nitpicks but still). Not knowing which heists actually have an active amount of people playing them and on what difficulty too seems like a major step back from crime.net in Payday 2 as well, making it very hard to actually get into a match with other people. On top of that there is no way to specify if you are trying to do it loud or stealth so when someone joins that assumes you are trying to do loud and messes it up there is nothing you can do about it (also no preplanning screen after the lobby for the heist so no way to change your loadout after getting into a game making this even more annoying).

The one thing that I will say that have gotten right is how the guns feel in comparison to the previous game. All of the guns I have tested so far have felt pretty good to use, making me kind of more upset that loud otherwise isn't that fun because I would love to be using these guns in more interesting heists with more varied buildcrafting. I would have to assume that over time a lot of my gripes with these things will be fixed as more things are figured out about what works and what doesn't work when making this game but only time will tell.

Overall I really want to like this game because there are things that are very enjoyable about it, but at this point in time it's hard to recommend it until more updates and content drops are released for it. Get it if you are interested but otherwise maybe wait a little.

Easily the best COD Zombies experience. Not only are the regular dlc maps really good and worth your time to check out, but the workshop support for this game is really good too. Tons of maps to play meaning just more zombies to play. Buy this game on sale and you won't be disappointed (regular price is way too much even for this btw).
