Really for how easily affordable this game is and only developed by two persons. I do recommend this fast paced deck build board game that you can spend lots of hours and still has endless fun till the end of time.

Compelling story, Extremely responsive control and satisfy gunplay, Fast paced combat that reward quick decision making to overcome any challenge by utilizing Stasis and Kinesis power. One of the best Third Person Shooter ever made.

As of the 2026, there is a MOD called "Marker Patch (GitHub) By Wemino" which significantly improve game performance and other quality of life changes. I strongly recommend everyone to check this one out.

In addition, i also do recommend using "DXVK (GitHub) By Philip "doitsujin" Rebohle" to convert DirectX 9 to Vulkan which will result in better performance of the game.

Also install "4GB Patch (NTCore)" for the game to utilize more RAM than the default RAM utilization by the game default setting.

This game is very fun to play.

Serious Sam 4 has the best gunplay in the series. Weapons in this game feel very powerful and very satisfy to use. With the introduction of Skill system, you can enhance Sam from an already powerful One Man Army With One Liner to now become the literal unstoppable force to be reckoned with. In addition with gadget (equipment) which can turn any disadvantage situation into your favor.

Story wise, Serious Sam has never been focus on storytelling but for a game that is heavily focused on gameplay, i think story presentation is fairly appropriate.

Most of comedy is mostly very in the face type of comedy which could turn off majority of people. But i personally found them to be enjoyable for what it was.

Cinematic direction is generally basic which is something you can find in 2000 video games. They can be feel awkward to watch. I hope Croteam can improve on this area in the sequel.

Soundtrack from the lead composer since the first game is great, both ambient and combat music are very satisfy to listen which will enhance you experience when you are exploring the level or engaging in the combat.

Optimization, the game is now in the stable state by time i start playing this game in 2026. With I9-14900K And RTX 4080 at 1080P with max setting, the game runs consistently over 150+ FPS even on the big horde fight. There are still an issues with texture loading and pop up object from the distance view which is something that i have to inform people.

As for level design, i do heard from majority of people said that the level design is underwhelming compared to previous Serious Sam Games. As someone who play First And Second Enounter, 2, and 3, i do definitely see why but even so i still found them to be quite solid and fun to play. Sure there are some unnecessary areas that ended up being pointless but when you are entering an area where you fight an enemies that is what matter the most and i think Croteam still deliver and maintain standard of Serious Sam series.

Overall, if you are looking for a fast paced FPS game with massive horde of enemies. I do recommend this game.

Basically this is Super Robot Wars with Touhou story and character with original story from the creator integrated into the story from featured Touhou games.

If you are someone as a fan of SRW, i do highly recommend buying this game as this game has its own gameplay mechanics that made it stands out on its own and they are very fun and engaging to play.

And if you are Touhou fan, story and character interaction in this game are very entertaining which is something that you can find in SRW games along with "a lot of references" from another mecha shows and even SRW related stuffs too.

Overall, i highly recommend this game if you are both of Super Robot Wars and/or Touhou Fan.

Pro Tip : Pick "P-Defeat" as a purchasable skill in "every character" slot. As this will grant additional "1+ power" upon defeat enemy, allowing you to increase "power" stat at a double rate. This skill has always been overpowered back in SRW Alpha 3, OGs, and OG Gaiden. Unfortunately Banpresto realized how broken this skill is, and they decided to remove it from subsequent game.

The final conclusion of Rocksteady's Arkham trilogy. Quite a good ending for the long running story while also elevate gameplay from previous game to be even better.
