For a new Silent Hill in the series, this is top notch quality survival horror, as it should be. I love the setting in Japan. I am an OG fan of the series and this did not disappoint at all.

So Hellblade 2 has ruined melee combat in games for me now... lol, there is not a single game that can touch what this game did for me, I can't stress enough that the headphones are very important, this game demands it for the experience they tailored with her psychosis hearing the voices, they are in every direction and it is crazy just like the first game if not more so than before, its like the other half of the game is the audio, every single thing is like ASMR, the detail is insane, the audio quality is on the same level as the graphics, and the soundtrack, my god lol, it is perfect when its gentle and when its hardcore, every single song fits the scene perfectly, if you play it quiet your doing it wrong, I have wired studio headphones that don't let me adjust extra or less volume and I play it with default windows volume at 100 and in the game all the meters are left at 10 so I am getting the exact experience they tailored, it is absolutely perfect.

It gets so emotional, soo violent, soo realistic, soo intense, its gets my heart pounding, it fills me with like a rush of energy to where I can barely sit still playing it, nothing flashy or too fast, it is to me the best thing I ever experienced in a melee based combat game, like nothing compares to it, the absolute madness and chaos of a fight, and in this game it is an artform, its a masterpiece to me. I love that there is Zero HUD telling you anything, nothing holding your hand telling you how to play or anything, it has simple controls but don't let that fool you, people making it out to be a giant quick time event game even though it gives you complete freedom to attack, block and evade however you choose and favors timing. The way they designed the pace of the fighting makes you commit to your actions and gives it honest weight and the risk that comes with that choice, spamming and mashing buttons will get you nowhere in a game like this, requires you to think rather than grinding a healthbar to zero lol. I imagine people with with a very short attention span won't like this game because of its slower pace, but for me the intensity is felt and it feels real lol

I am playing Hellblade 2 because I loved the first one, but this game has me blown away, its like the first one but like times 10 lol, I am doing the full experience with headphones so I hear the voices in her head the way she hears them, the sound editing is like unbelievable and its making me anxious and take deeper breathes lol, I have a 3080ti build and got it maxed right out in 4k on a theatre like setup and got it locked right at 60fps runs perfectly smooth and looks unbelievable. Out of all the games I played in my entire life I think this one is the most psycho, its off the rails but in a very good way lol, I am glad they are allowed to make games like this because I get to play them, they full send the horror aspect in this game and I am loving it!

I recommend only playing on hard and not using the focus slo mo thing at all in a fight, for me it takes the fun and immersion out of the fight instantly, so like the first game I just don't use it period, there was only like 1 fight out of the entire game where they force you to use it, thankfully that was it so I was okay with that.

The only thing I didn't like at first was the price tag for a short game but the experience totally made up for it in the end, was worth it for me anyway but only after I played it. Unlike the first game this one sticks to 1v1 style fights but I think they did it for realism because they portray the main character barely getting through it most of the time which makes up for it, I do wish it was longer and bigger but I can only imagine what it took to make this game the way it is now. I would love to see this inspire future games to be more like this, or at least try to be. If you imagine this game in a giant open world setting like Skyrim then it would make Hellblade 2 look like a very overpriced demo to something greater.

Till then I cant find this experience anywhere else, they nailed what they were going for and I am very happy with it, it is now in my top 5, please make more. I have been a game collector since the 90's and this was my first review ever for any game, but I fell in love with this game and I love Ninja Theory for making it!! Thank you so much!!!
