Early Access Review
Wait until the game is out of Early Access and completed to even consider purchasing.

Problems with the game;
-Optimization (I personally didn't have any issue with this but everyone else did)

-Basic features do not exist. If you want to be able to equip an item fast by simply pressing a button, you're out of luck! Switching from your axe to your knife/bow/etc is painfully terrible since you have to go into your inventory and then select that item. How the HELL do you not have hotkeys?

-The inventory system is terrible, in general. It's far more spread out than the first game and you have to pan across a giant area to find the items you want. The inventory is needlessly massive, comparative to the first game where things were bundled and knit close. It's tedious

-The game is far too dark. Like, impossibly dark. Even with your lighter (which is completely useless as a light source) you can't see more than an arms length in front of you, regardless of your gamma settings.

-They took a lot of mechanics and key map features away from the original game, instead of adding on it.

-Absolutely nothing is explained to you. At all. They throw you into the world and tell you to figure it out, which is fine, but there's not even a baseline tutorial on how to play.

-There's NPCS that will just randomly show up now and then which is cool, but there's absolutely nothing indicating how to interact with them or what to do with them. They just exist. There's one that follows you around and you can give very basic orders to but it's very barebones and underwhelming. They're cool and all but the AI is laughably bad

-The game has Skyrim levels of mountain running. Might be even worse. You can just walk up basically 90 degrees on the mountain like its nobodies business. Not like a big takeaway point, but it goes to show how little polish the game has.

-The caves are basically empty and lifeless. The original game had these giant winding interconnected caves with tons of unique enemies that you really could get lost in. Most caves are just linear dead ends with nothing in them. In the old game you had to use thought and special items like the pick to climb up and down, not in this game.

TL;DR Horribly incomplete; even for being early access and in general just super boring. It's the forest but without any of the charm of the first game.
