Dead by Daylight has taken over 300 hours of my time, and I’ve seen the game at both its best and its most frustrating.
Between tunneling, slugging, and overly safe playstyles, matches can start to feel predictable in a bad way.
Despite how satisfying looping a killer can be, it often feels pointless when they just abandon chase and tunnel someone weaker.
Running tiles efficiently used to feel like a skill expression, but now it’s sometimes ignored entirely.
And then there’s slugging, which slows the game down to a crawl and leaves people staring at the ground instead of playing.
You end up in situations where momentum is completely lost, especially when killers stack pressure by leaving multiple survivors downed.
After so many hours, these tactics stand out more than the genuinely fun matches.
Not to mention how frustrating it is when teammates accidentally—or intentionally—sandbag at the worst possible times.
Honestly, it sometimes feels like Rayan is always there to block a window or drop a pallet early.
At least the game still has style, and some female killers bring a certain… distracting energy to the match.
Design-wise, a few of the female killers definitely stand out in ways that turn me on which me jamie and rayan won’t stop talking about.
Jokes aside, aesthetics can’t carry the experience when core gameplay frustrations pile up.
All I really want is a reason to rely on looping skill without it being undermined by tunneling or slugging.
Right now, the meta rewards efficiency over interaction, and that hurts long-term enjoyment.
I still come back to the game, but it’s getting harder to ignore these issues.
