War thunder is unique in...many ways. Its uniquely NOT as ♥♥♥♥ as World of Tanks, and hasn't hit just blatant P2W like it has...but its still very, very bad. Its a game thats not able to be replicated elsewhere without losing some charm but..it doesn't make it immune to the biggest problem. Gaijin and their absolute hatred for the community. Never have i had a company outright PUNISH players for being upset about a KNOWINGLY bad set of changes to a point where they revert all the changes everyone agreed were GOOD to then try and muddy the waters and pit the community against itself. again, and again. and tell the people who have to pay SO MUCH to get anything meaningful in the game that they are wrong, and that we don't know what we're talking about. again. and again.
Premium Account. Premium Vehicles. Crates with skins/very valuable vehicles in them. Buyable XP with a horrible rate. Event vehicles/1 time vehicles that are stuck to ONLY that and no way to get them until potentially YEARS later within...you guess it...yet another crate.
All that, and the audacity they have to then on top of that continually nerf..and nerf...and nerf rewards so that you HAVE to have both a Premium account and Vehicle in every. single. lineup in the game to make any meaningful progression and get any of the free currency is...apalling to say the least. The review bombing as of late has hit a nerve with them, and i hope it spurs meaningful change in the game and shows that they'll have to actually do a damn thing to keep their moneyhorse running.
