Unique movement options mixed with attack ability: Fling the mystic boomerang to attack and press again to be flinged towards where the boomerang currently is. The boomerang can bounce off walls so you can e.g. fall down from the air, fling boomerang towards an enemy on the bottom, boomerang hits and bounces off ground, wait until boomerang is above you, press again to be flinged upwards before hitting the ground. Hit combos and more attack abilities make the combat even more interesting. The game is a row of subsequent combat arenas of rising difficulty. Difficulty rises with more verticality of the arenas, because you'll soar through the air without hitting the ground anymore soon, and with more enemy types which are very well done, because they're not "higher hp" style enemies, but totally different in behaviour, vulnarability and abilities, who each need a very different approach to handle. Very well put together game. Has a high skill-ceiling and I totally recommend to play with m&k, but it's also designed to support controller input with aim assist, a more moderate difficulty and accessibility options which makes it open for everyone. Also has an additional challenging endless mode.

Very recommended! Actually, no other game compares in terms of movement.
I would like to see a 2D pixel platformer version of this game!

"Errungenschaft freigeschaltet: Unsichtbar peinlich."

Nice offroad courses. Many of them can be challenging! Especially when you play in cockpit perspective, that is crazy, dude! Yes, there are some rough edges sometimes like wheels getting clipped into the floor, the car weirdly bouncing off objects at a certain angle and unrealistic air manipulation with accelerating, but it's mostly fair and fun!

Has many modes where I like the endless mode the most where you're getting random obstacles one after another and have to get 100 done. Getting set back for a fail increases the intensity, you know. There can occur some pretty challenging situations depending on the random order of the obstacles like no space to turn and a steep incline to climb after a decline and such.

Overall I very much liked my experience with Offroad Mania and recommend it if you like precision driving on pretty much realistic physics and have patience!

I very much like the combat abilities! Unfortunately once you got them all and the combat gets going, the game is already over and there are no challenge levels or arenas to push the combat to its limits. Nocturnal is a short experience of 3-4 hours to 100% and not worth the asking price tag of 17€ in my opinion. It's not a metroidvania, but a linear level-based platformer with some secret paths to be found. It's got very beautiful graphics and very cool flame and mist animations. The storytelling is served regularly in a good old-fashioned talk-to-people-and-read-letters way. Pretty ordinary overall, but enjoyable.

One of the best horde survivors games! And it's even free! This dev should definitely charge some bucks for this gem. There are only a few upgrade icons missing, other than that it's polished and well balanced.

I very much like the mechanics and possible upgrade synergies! The mechanic of vision / darkness is a unique idea to horde survival and so many upgrades play with and enhance this mechanic, like vision-bringing mouse-guided rocket missles, enemies taking more damage in vision / darkness, upgrades triggering depending on how many enemies are visible and such. So many weapons, upgrades and synergies to be explored. I already had many different builds which let me feel super-powered and that's what this genre is about. But it's not too easy, because picking upgrades which don't combine to a good synergy will lead to overwhelming enemy waves soon. Also dodging all those bullets and area damages is tricky often. There is a difficulty setting to adjust the game to your liking.

Very much recommended! Everything done right with Disfigure!

TL;DR: It's not what it wants to be because of bad game design. Also some minor annoying stuff.

Every single store page screenshot and the video show interconnected traffic, a network of roads and that's what this game should be about. That is what I wanted and was promised, but not what I got. The goal in every city is to optimize the streets so that 2000 commuters can travel before any factory gets a work overflow. To reach this goal building a road network, which inevitably has junctions, is much unfavourable, because the amount of speed decrease a car has at a junction, the amount of cooldown a car has before starting to drive again, the whole car behaviour is chosen in such a way that congestion will strike sooner when going for a network.

The optimal way of reaching the goal or a highscore is to seperate each and every factory and dedicate specific houses to each factory, so that there is only one road leading from a group of houses to one factory. This decreases junctions immensely and even though it extends the road length immensely, it works much better than a network. It's not what a real city should look like, which is not a city network but more like a PCB layout, and it's the game design's fault that this is the case. When I found out about this, this was the point where the game wasn't a city road builder simulation game anymore, it turned into a connect-the-dots-without-crossing-lines mobile game. It takes me out of immersion and isn't what I wanted. While this is enjoyable enough for me to play through, I unfortunately can not recommend it as a city traffic game.

Also there is an annoying effect with motorways. When you change the place of your motorway, start or beginning, even if it's for only 1 tile, the current motorway will be out of order and the new changed motorway will be not ready yet, so that all cars ready in their houses stop taking the old motorway and also can't take the changed new motorway. They will wait for all cars currently on the move to take their last trip over the old motorway and only then, cars finally have a path to their destination again. While this will cause a massive congestion and a critical speed loss, by the time this happened the factory can already be in such a workload that, even when you had an additional route, the change of the motorway caused game over. And it's not possible to undo a change, so a miss input can be fatal. From my perspective this is a bad design choice as well and cars starting from their houses should be able to take the new motorway while the old one is being dismantled.

In the beginning of a run the fastest option is still too slow. There is no option to speed things up further.

Traffic lights are about useless. While they can speed up congestions a bit, they also slow down the usual flow when there is no congestion and can instead cause a congestion.

Every map plays about the same. There is not enough variety. When you learned the basic principles it's repeat and grind.

What takes me out of immersion is that houses with possible employees in their cars don't need to be connected to roads! Only factories need to be connected to enough houses. Maybe they're unemployed, but they would still want to use the road to get groceries. Mini Metro did this better, because there all passengers needed to go somewhere and not only some.

Not recommended as a traffic game. Mini Metro was cool, but this is a downgrade.

Geometry Wars 3 has the classic arcade gameplay and feel and at the same time offers modern graphics, qol features and innovative 3D space arenas. For me this is the ultimate oldschool arcade twin stick shooter. If you like this you may wanna try Trigonarium which pays tribute to it with the same well designed enemies. I especially like the green shuriken enemy which dodges your projectiles and sneaks around to hit you from behind. Everything is super well made. The only negative thing I can say is that there is a grindy achievement, but that doesn't make the gameplay less awesome.

Very recommended for oldschool arcade fans!

The look is cute for kids but don't be fooled, this is absolutely not a kid's game! Even the normal levels are hard nuts to crack and require perfect usage of the given resources. The levels and game mechanics offer many options but the levels are perfectly designed, that all possible options of orders, paths and placements lead to a dead end but only one option is the solution and this is often very difficult to find. In addition to the normal levels which are already hard there are even harder levels to make your head spin. And if that is not enough, you can spend all your remaining time on earth trying to solve all the user-created levels, or create the hardest level ever created with the built-in level editor.
Does not support PS controller, but enabling Steam Input does the job. Has working achievements.

Absolutely recommended for puzzle enthisiasts!
