Since everyone was praising it, and it was significantly cheaper than before, I decided to take the bait and try it.

The UI is extremely clunky, but its not the worst thing I've ever seen, and the launch is pretty cool. I get to orbit, EVA and witness Jeb get sent 5k meters above the vessel. I am completely bewildered, so I reload to the save, stay in the rocket this time, and deorbit. Upon hitting 30K, the atmosphere is apparently not working, my velocity is not slowing down, but my periapsis has lowered into the negative while I've somehow retained my ships altitude at the same time. Eventually, after nearly orbiting the planet at the same speed and altitude of 30K, the atmosphere kicks in, and the streamer ring light encircles my craft.

It slows down enough to where I pop the parachute, slowly lose my velocity, and then the parachute disappears and I crash into the ground at 4k m/s.
