I ***REALLY*** wanted to like this game.

+The visuals are some of the best for games of this style.
+The combat is pretty standard tbh. Nothing crazy going on but it's pretty decent. I will say though, some boss fights can easily be cheesed ( and that's stuff I found on a single playthrough ).
+Characters are pretty cute and likeable.
+Dungeons / Areas are pretty fun to explore and have neat little puzzles albeit nothing crazy. There's gears to find in treasure chests to upgrade John's weapons and Power ups for Sam.
+Sound track, although repetitive, is pretty nice.

This game has plenty of good things going on so why not recommend it?

Like everyone else is saying, the story is a HUGE let down. It starts off super strong, super interesting premise. Wow okay, I have high expectations now! BAM huge pause in the story. That's okay, you get to meet new characters, they're pretty fun so I don't mind, we'll pick it right back up eventually right? chapter 3, 4, 5, 6 go by. We're still grinding the side stuff, surely the main plot will pick back up now right? All our questions will get answered right? Nah chapter 7 is more none-sense that leaves you with more questions. Chapter 8 is gonna tie it all back up together right? No not really.

A LOT of pros, story starts off SO GOOD, but the pacing just gets really bad and leaves you with a bland, generic and confusing story.

This game honestly pushed to maybe 10% of its potential which is super disappointing.
