I tried to avoid the bandwagon. I really did. Not because of any loyalty or anything. These past few updates have been atrocious. It's been outright insulting to people that play this game and have provided money in support. The games updates, quality, and community management have always had a pretty heavy sine wave between good and bad. Right now it is the biggest slump yet. It could get better, maybe even be "good" again, but for me it's too late.

I'm not giving a negative review because I want to send a message or anything. I genuinely do not enjoy playing the game anymore. I've tried playing and it feels joyless now. The frustrations that have always plagued the game seem amplified. The poor design choices and bugs that have existed since release are highlighted, knowing that development priority is given to bilking me for more money. I used to freely buy most dlc, including the Completely Overkill Pack which I viewed as basically just a $20 tip jar. Most dlc weapons have had their uniqueness white washed into samey-ness in an effort "to make every weapon viable". The heists have been contracted out to another developer who seem to have their own efforts held hostage while they make more stuff for Payday 2. The Completely Overkill Pack seems like a slap in the face, offering you a random drop of dubious quality, that may or may not have some kind of boost, and can be marketed for even more profit to the developers.

Long story short, I will no longer be giving money to Overkill or Starbreeze products. The gameplay has worsened, and for me at least, is no longer fun.
