Make sure you set all your games to only update when you launch them, and if they update and get that "corrupt download" error then just clear cache and remove them from queue and then you can play them by going offline on steam for a minute while you start the game and then you can go online with steam again. This is working well for me. Also you can check games for older betas that are pre-Unity update and then the games can install and run easilyi that way.

Sadly so far lost around 6 games to steam being trash on win7, but thankfully most of what i own is old stuff that won't be updated, so in theory i might still have a decent library in the future.
