This has become one of my top games I've played in a while. The discussions of what family is and means, the journey from childhood to adulthood, and overall the passage of time just hits every emotional button for me. If you can identify with a character then a story resounds more with you, and I see a lot of myself in Mimi in how she acts and interacts with those around her, along with some events that hit very close to home. Yes its short, but for me if a game makes me cry, its worth whatever price. There is a bit of replay value in it, but I think I'll have to let it sit for a while before going again, or maybe play it with someone else in order to get a secondhand experience. The only thing I wish is that I could buy the soundtrack and an artbook, because holy frick everything about them is fantastic. Please buy this game, please play this game.

With the added 3rd party Sony EULA changed to a permanent requirement, I can't recommend this game. It was fun while it lasted, but I play PC to avoid console BS, not get dragged into it as well.

This is a heartwarming game of following a life from childhood to adulthood that you learn by unpacking after every move. This game made me feel things. Happiness, sadness, and frustration as to how this person organizes given how different it is from me. The pixel art style shines here, along with the soundtrack, however I can;t say I recommend it at its current price point of $20, not after beating it at ~3.5 hours. I'd say this is worth more than my usual cheap $.50/hr, maybe $1-2/hr, but that is kinda pushing it given the limited replay value. There are multiple save files to allow you to organize differently, but there's only so many ways you can store shirts. I likely won't replay unless content gets added. This is a game I would buy on sale, but I also feel disappointed in saying that. Maybe that's another emotion the game is making me feel.

Played this over a couple sittings and largely liked it. I expected a horror-esque puzzle game, what I did not expect was a horror-esque puzzle game that is rather light on the horror and much deeper into the storytelling and character development. I also dig a period aesthetic, so bonus points for me there. I spent about six hours over four sessions, and I kinda feel like that's the intended playstyle? I would get annoyed at the backtracking or the character movement speed (once again, an exploration game that needs an auto-run on/off button) so I'd save and quit, then come back a bit later and pick up right where I left off without too much time needing to remember what I was doing. At $20 bucks, this would be a bit much for me, but I'd say on sale at $10 its well worth the price (I think I got this from Humble Monthly, so absolutely worth it from that.)

Played this through in one sitting with my partner through one of the roles, took about 3.5 hours to get through all six missions. We had fun, its just short enough for one sitting, but feels like there should be more than just the one "case." I'm not counting the challenge modes, as that isn't really our thing. I would say, as our first asymmetrical co-op game that this was a good start, Its forgiving enough when you mess up, but with enough difficulty to not feel like a complete cakewalk. Just because I was the "Hacker" role the whole time didn't mean I just clicked buttons, and just because my partner was the "Agent" role didn't mean all they did was run around and go where I told them to. There were a few points where we had to stop and talk it through since we think very differently (planning, directions, etc.) but the game allows for this with time and safe spots in almost every place. I only had one crash, and when we reconnected it brought right back to the end part of the level, so we didn't have to do the whole thing over again (thankfully). A lot of the puzzles have multiple iterations, so multiple playthroughs are viable (even though the story overall will be the same.)

My biggest gripe is the time vs. price ratio, and what offsets it. My general rule is 50 cents/hour (I'm cheap, sorry) but since only one person needs a copy, I'd raise it to $1/hour. If you run through both sides like we plan to do, it'll probably equal out at 6-7 hours total, which at $20 is a fair ways short. I'm still recommending it, as on sale at around $10 I'd say its worth it to have a couple playthroughs with different folks and see how each of you thinks, and try again in a few months with roles swapped. I would absolutely look forward to any DLC for this, but as of writing this review its been two years, so I wouldn't hold out hope.

This game took AC II and improved everything. Great story, great soundtrack, and good VA (at least for the time.) I'll say the only aggravating thing is the need to re-run missions in case you didn't quite meet one requirement or another. For me it was mainly the 'beat this mission under a time limit,' but I'm generally bad at timer based events. Not on sale its 20 bucks, and even if you play it once and do >75% of the content, its worth that price. On sale, it'll be even better.

I bought this game having played through Odyssey and loving it. This game is not a step up, its a massive step back. The VO is bland, the soundtrack boring, and the plot moves along at absolutely random times with either zero motivation or ALL THE MOTIVATION. The combat is feels clunky and took away a lot of the toys that Odyssey and Origins gave me, the enemies are bland and dumb (as are the AI companions, their pathfinding is terrible). This game is less than the sum of its parts, and it shows within the first few hours. I gave it a 100+ hour chance hoping it would improve, but it doesn't. This game will not go to Valhalla. Absolutely do not buy this game, even on sale.

Buy this for the main game, the graphics, VA, and music nail every beat, and there is something new even if you've played the original. Intergrade wasn't worth it for me, but it might be for someone out there.

This series was interesting as a port of a mobile game. I dig the noir style and jazz soundtrack, and the mechanics are clearly built for mobile, but they all still work perfectly fine on PC. The first game seemed simultaneously too long and too short, maybe due to what seems to be a repeat near the end, while the second game was absolutely perfect. I wouldn't say this is work ten bucks, maybe five or so at the most. I feel like if there was four parts to this, it would be closer to ten, but not at just two.

This game made me cry and call my family right afterwards to tell them I love them. 10/10
