This is by far the best hunting game out there. Hands down.

Now, it's true that there are some bugs and glitches here and there, but if you want the closest thing to pulling on your boots and heading out into the great wilderness; THIS IS IT.

Every game that you play after this that has any type of hunting will be a let down. Seriously.

Lets go over the pros:

Graphics:
My God, what a beautiful game this is. You'll want to stop and take a picture of every new sight, of every new ridge, peak, and trail. Sometimes I'll find myself just wandering around and gazing at the gorgeous land stretching out before me.

Hunting:
You want a realistic hunt? You want your aim to matter? You want your stalk to count? This is the game for you. Other hunting games are still stuck in the 90's arcade shooter while this beast inhabits the beauty of hunting. It is solitary, quiet, and pensive. It is the long drawn out walking between heart rushing seconds before downing an elusive beast.

Mechanics:
I'll be honest, some of the time you'll be playing and spook an animal and think, "This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I had him!" and then you realize that's just the way a hunt goes sometimes. That's the difficulty. These animals aren't stupid. They'll see you. They'll sniff you. They'll run. Rush the hunt and you'll often times find yourself disappointed and empty-handed.
Travel can sometimes feel arduous, but when I start to feel that way I remember this game isn't about the wall-to-wall action. It's about the journey.
Ballistics feel good and accurate, which makes landing a shot all the more satisfying whether it's from a longbow, compound bow, rifle, blackpowder, pistol, shotgun or whatever weapon you choose.

Hunting Parks:
Have you ever wanted to hunt the dry rolling plains of Africa? Ever wanted to scale the peaks of Spain? Face the sparse lands of Patagonia? Perhaps you'd rather wander the Northwest coast of the US? The point is, the variety of both land and game will keep you interested on outing after outing.

Stories:
One thing I absolutely hate above all else is the portrayal of hunters in Hollywood and many other industries. This game helps curb that. The stories are often about the conservationists. The good men and women spending their lifetime protecting the beautiful wilds for all of us to enjoy, our children, and their children. From the Alaskan ranger, to the Reserve owners you'll find interesting and sometimes twisting stories throughout. You'll remove poacher traps, you'll protect wildlife from aggressive predators, and you'll do everything in between.

If you have a loved one or spouse that might not be so keen on hunting, some of these stories might be good to show them, let them play through and see what the hunting community is actually about. Rather than the dumb, bloodthirsty cavemen everywhere else depicts hunters as.

Overall:
This game is worth every penny. If you have even the slightest interest in hunting or perhaps you just want to know a bit more about the sport, buy this.
I'm not saying this will make you some master hunter who can go scrounge up a meal at will in the unforgiving wilderness, but it might just give you better idea of why people love the great outdoors.

So what are you waiting for? Get out
