9 Years of Shadows is a fantastic game if you like the genre. I did enjoy this game a lot. It is not without flaw though, so let's get into it!

Positives first:
The visuals of this game are absolutely gorgeous. The movement feels good, and the (melee) combat is fast and satisfying.
Most of the characters are pretty interesting. The story is nothing to write home about, but it is a solid one nonetheless. The soundtrack is good, although you would probably expect something more action oriented, it still fits the game.
With an average playtime of 8-10 hours, i think it has a good lenght. It's not over too fast but also doesn't overstay it's welcome.

Now to the stuff i didn't like as much:
-Boss introductions are unskippable. It gets rather annoying to watch the same cutscene mutiple times if you don't beat the boss on the first attempt.
-The ranged attack feels awkward to use, since it is rather hard to aim. It also drains your "light bar", which sort of also functions as your health. You may call that a risk/reward kind of deal, but becaus of that I rarely even used it unless i really had to.
-Backtracking is an absolute nightmare since there is no teleportation/fast travel function. It can take ages to traverse the map if you weren't thorough the first time.
-A certain change to the health system near the end of the game which i will not go further into for spoiler reasons. If you know, you know i suppose =P

While this may sound like a complain a lot for stating that i really enjoyed the game, know that i would call none of these flaws a dealbreaker. Minor annoyances at best. Except for the last point. That was really bad.

7.5/10, would recommend at a discount. :)

Ich möchte Vorweg nehmen, dass das eigentliche Spiel absolut großartig ist.
Ich habe es vor etwa 10 Jahren sehr viel auf der PS3 gespielt und bin auch heute noch sehr angetan.

Warum also der Daumen nach unten?

Weil das Herzstück dieses Spiels der Multiplayer ist. Und weil weder Steam, noch EA nicht in der Lage sind, dich überhaupt in den Multiplayer zu lassen. Das Problem ist wie folgt: Wenn man im Spiel auf Multiplayer klickt, dann wird man aufgefordert sich mit einem EA Konto anzumelden. So weit, so gut. Danach kommt dann das obligatorische ToS Fenster gefolgt von einer Aufforderung den Produktschlüssel einzugeben. Und hier liegt auch das Problem: ihr bekommt hier auf Steam keinen Produktschlüssel.

Ich habe nun also 3 Tage damit verbracht, mit dem Steam Support, dem EA Live Support sowie auch dem EA Answers Forum zu schreiben, um an einen Schlüssel zu kommen, jedoch vollkommen ohne Erfolg. Man sagte mir, ich würde keinen benötigen wenn ich mein EA Konto mit meinem Steam Konto verbinde. Das ist offensichtlich schlichtweg nicht wahr. Auf weitere Fragen wurde dann einfach nicht geantwortet.

Also tut euch selbst den Gefallen, und kauft euch das Spiel direkt auf Origin. Das erspart euch eine Menge Zeit und Frust, denn dort bekommt ihr den nötigen Produktschlüssel automatisch mit eurem Kauf.
