Resident Evil is a franchise that's marked by both intense horror and high-octane action. Resident Evil Requiem excels in both genres. RE9 feels like a marriage between the gameplay of RE7 and RE4, two games that showcase the best of what RE has to offer on both the horror and action sides respectively. Grace's sections gave me the scariest experiences I've ever had in any game, and Leon's sections exude the cool, cheesy, over-the-top action that also serves as a breather from the intensity of Grace's gameplay (almost like a safe room). Resident Evil Requiem feels like two games in one, and it's never jarring. It feels like a love letter to fans new and old. Requiem is the culmination of everything Capcom has learned in the franchise's history. In short, Resident Evil is back, baby!

More than just a game. Climbing Kami felt like a test for both me and the protagonist, Aava. Each step you take on the mountain climb is a decision you make, without any guidance from the game. You must rely on your own intuition to determine which route looks the most possible. Taking the ascent is not a pleasant journey, but it's an absolutely satisfying one.
