OG Resident Evil 4 is what Bethesda wishes Skyrim was. It's the game that's ported/remastered/re-released for every platform created since the game itself was first made, and I buy it every time. It's aged over the years, but remains perfectly playable in its mechanics. As well as perfectly delightful in its B-movie charm. I played RE4 on GameCube when my brother dropped a copy on my 10 year old self. I played it endlessly on the Wii with the addition of motion controls. I have a copy on the Switch for travel. I gifted my friend a copy of the VR version when he got a headset to play when I visited. And I like to revisit it on PC from time to time. This game is an all time great, and fully deserving of its reputation. The remake is incredible as well, but that's its own review.
THERE IS A FRAMERATE ISSUE TO BE AWARE OF ON PC. Some of the button mashing is tied to framerate, so playing at higher than 30fps can make it difficult, with one section being effectively impossible without a mod, or adjusting the framerate in game and maybe your monitor. But this game is worth it.
I cannot recommend it enough, grab it on a sale, let yourself get used to the controls, and enjoy the ride that keeps so many people coming back again year after year.

Pick up the GOTY edition and go nuts.

Seriously, I highly recomend the psycho class.

It's like the first game only with more features, if you're only buying one then this is the one you want.

Do it so they can make a new one with more features and better graphics.

I've seen man fighting man, brother fighting brother, father fighting son.

I've seen cities hold off seiges lasting for days, weeks. I've watched them fall from both sides of their walls.

I've seen Kings spend their lives in dungeons, and I've seen peasants atop thrones.

I've seen armies slaughtered by handfulls of men, and handfulls massacred by armies.

But I will never understand why some of the feasting tables in this game have skeletons sitting at them, seriously, what the hell?

I like it better than Fallout 3, there, I said it.

Even with the hours I've logged, I've only just gotten through the main quest and DLCs, there is an insane amount of content in this game, and none of it feels like a waste.

Have you ever wished for a Splinter Cell with subpar writing which plays like a clunky Mass Effect? No? Well somebody did, because Alpha Protocall exists...

In all honesty though, if you're a sucker for spy stories like myself, pick this one up on a sale.

It took me a little while to get into it. I'm telling you now, you'll be dissapointed if your deffinition of "stealth" is usually "Headshot everyone with a silenced pistol" the aiming is not very precise and the damage feels more like an old school RPG. But there are decent jokes to be made and souvaneers in your safehouses from previous missions, which I enjoyed.
