The best VR game.

The best Half-Life game.

It was worth the 1079€ and 13 years of waiting.

@richardjmurray Personal preference is understandable. But lack of content compared to boneworks? Sandbox levels is not content. It is lack of content. Also not enough achievements when it has 4 times more compared to boneworks.... Ok...

okay forgot to come back, but now im here.
still prefer boneworks, resin isn't really exciting to find cause it's everywhere and the attachments feel a bit boring.

no melee makes the game's combat feel the same the entire way through.

plus an extreme lack of content.

not enough achievments.

@richardjmurray You can watch a gameplay video for 10min. What makes it even more fun is how well they have placed all these items in the game. There are some easy to find on the floor when you pass through an area, then there are some hidden in some corners which required you to move around the area and look around more, and then there are some really hidden which require you to interact with objects to find them. The more you search a room the more stuff you can find. Even if you think you have found everything if you look again there is probably something you missed. It kind of reminds me of searching for the λ caches in Half-Life 2.

well i can't judge yet since i haven't bought Alyx yet.

@richardjmurray If you compare 10min of gameplay from these 2 games, check how many "useful" hidden items you can find and you will see the difference. Almost every room in Half-Life: Alyx has hidden items you can use to upgrade your weapons. In Boneworks almost every room has useless items you can interact with but nothing useful you can keep. Also in the walking dead, if you search a house you are guaranteed to find something you can keep to upgrade your skills and to craft better weapons. This makes exploring in these games more rewarding.

Again... I am not saying Boneworks is bad, I am saying there are better games than it.

the checkpoints didn't affect me i don't even use them now.

but the exploring stuff?
that confuses me, the exploring in boneworks was great.

@richardjmurray To me a sandbox does not feel like a "full game". Exploring an area in VR in Boneworks did not feel as rewarding as in Half-Life Alyx. Also I can't forget that Boneworks didn't even have checkpoints in the levels at release. At least in Half-Life: Alyx you can save whenever you want which is what I would expect from a AAA title. In my opinion even The walking dead: Saints & Sinners is a better game than Boneworks.

wdym? boneworks as a campaign a sandbox and an arena mode and loads of collectibles. feels as real as any other game.

@richardjmurray Boneworks is good but feels like a tech demo rather than a full game.
