This game is the equivalent of a staunchy old man with his arms crossed who won't listen to reason, hear out new and innovative ideas, or generally do anything other than what they learned in an archaic rulebook nobody cares about anymore.

Are the rules close to pen and paper? Sure (sans dumb inflated stats).

Is it fun? No.

They adhere so closely to these rules that your movement rate is limited by the weakest person in your party, so getting anywhere in this game feels like you're slogging through molasses; walking is infuriatingly slow. But hey! This matches the rules, right? So shut up and play.

You've no doubt heard about the difficulty spikes. They're ludicrous and I won't go into them, but what you're looking at are kobolds with 60 dexterity and other nonsense.

What I *will* get into is the writing. It's terrible. Typos abound, there are run-on sentences, and other syntax problems that make understanding what people are saying difficult. Nobody edited this text. You'll often get sentences that end in multiple exclamation points (!!!), making it feel like you're reading your grandparent's Facebook posts. That aside, the actual content is awful. There are some awful cliches rolling through these paragraphs. Infodumps interrupt the narrative and come at odd times, such as when one of your party members is being held hostage but you still get overloaded with information about the game world. Who cares if your friend is about to disappear; you have questions about an empire you'll never encounter.

Don't even bother waiting for the patches to come around. There's nothing worth repairing here.
