A sheet of smooth skin in the shape of my absent body.
Dehumanized in the name of greatness, see.
Heart into ashes, lungs into ashes.
Eyes taken so I can't see the sun.
Nauseous and labored and old.
Spread out across hundreds, my lifeblood fueling your great tools.
Structures built on structures held by gut that decays, still.
From flowing fluid sustained a stomach outgrown, caving in.
Beams sink into flesh, replacing my roots, and like veins, drain it into motors.
A need to be larger than life, and larger than death too.
But I know soon enough... You will eat to live.
