It's a good game, don't love all the DLC, but it's a good game. Simple, fun, and has some real depth to it. A good way to waste 14 straight hours without realizing it.

It's a good, low-weight, simple game. Lots of fun to just chill and make a little kingdom.

This game is everything I hoped it would be, and it's still in Alpha. Sure I wish there was more depth, but that'll be added when the game is finished, and updates seem to be coming regularly. I have my small qualms here and there, with small performance lag bits like framerate drops occurring at random intervals, and the fact that you can accidentally kill one of your two first Nuggets by dropping a rock on them isn't ideal. In addition to that, I do find myself annoyed by the UFOs as I can't figure out how to stop them. I mean, if I'm God, shouldn't I be able to just Telekinesis the ship and slam it into the ground? I also found myself bummed out when I found that my people sometimes had different reactions. In one play session (Where I was just learning how to play essentially) a neighboring tribe started sending Atheist Priests into my tribe to get them to stop following me. In response, I burned their village to the ground and tossed lightning bolts at them like Zeus until they had all died. My followers thought that was pretty dope, and loved me even more. But in another playthrough, my citizens adored me, and I faced a similar situation again. So, I went full Zeus on the enemy tribe and expected to see some more of my people adoring me. Instead, they were terrified of me, and they had no love for me, only fear. While yes I plan to play a megalomaniacal playthrough at some point, it was a bit odd that citizens could have such drastically different reactions to similar situations. Also, I had one playthrough where I tried to do a nice thing and bring a random neighbor tribe person into my village, hoping they'd come join my people. They were displeased by this and were labeled as aggressive, so I figured I had to save my people somehow and decided I'd put them back. Well, they were hard to find again so when I did I panicked and used them as a human sacrifice to myself. Which made me feel a little odd, considering they weren't a procreative threat to my people (it was one solo nugget, no partner in sight). I wish there was a way I could have just plopped them into my people, and they'd spend some time becoming friendly with us and adopting my people's unique culture.

If this is an incoherent mess of rants and raves, I must apologize; it's 3:09AM and I'm exhausted. For some reason I figured I should write this anyways, even considering the fact that my brain is dead and I wish only for sleep.

This is not the kind of game I'd normally purchase. Honestly, it's not at all like anything I'd purchase. But Humble Bundle had it on their sale, and I figured maybe something cute like this could be fun. I was right. This game is utterly brilliant. It's relaxing, it exercises my creative muscles, and it's incredibly calming. I've been going through some depression recently, and this game has really helped keep my mind off things and just have fun. I highly recommend it. 4.5/5

A few short days ago I was speaking to my friend about how awesome it would be to have a World War 1 game.
Then I found this game.
It's brilliant even in its current state, and it's a terrific game. The only things I don't like, involve realism. Like who in their right mind made a gun that couldn't be reloaded until empty, and how the hell did the french come out on top with guns like that?
But the size of the round definitely makes up for it.

My only criticism involves controls, which are for the most part fine, just V is the melee button, and that bugs me quite frequently, as I find myself stuck in a trench with five germans, mashing all the buttons I can find to bayonet the bastards, and I usually just end up jumping. But for now, until my dumb ass figures out how to change the keybindings, I'll just say I'm roleplaying the French and trying to get away from any violence as fast as I can. Or as they would call it, I'm performing a "Tactical Retreat".

Overall it's a huge buy. I love this damn game, and any problems that occur only end up making it more realistic to the plight of the average soldier in such a brutal war.
