On the helipad there's an npc_bullseye entity that's set to be immortal and non solid. I think by default most npcs hate the npc_bullseyes so they try shooting at them, the reason the combine in the level don't is because they are set to ignore them with an ai_relationship entity. That one npc_bullseye exists just so when the helicopter is landing it faces the correct direction, without the npc_bullseye sometimes it ends up randomly ignoring the flight paths direction and faces whatever direction it wants to.

actually hold on. i gotta know, why do the soldier npcs at the last stand defense section at the epilogue chapter randomly shoot the helipad like it's an enemy target even when as the player you can't see anything?

hunt down the freeman is really fun with console commands i like spawning in the soldier npcs or rangers/crew jus so i don't feel lonely assaulting nova prospekt or at the defense section
