"Overwatch" vs Overwatch

A JRPG first, and an MMO second, Final Fantasy XIV contains some of the best writing and moment-to-moment bouts of story I've ever experienced in any story-driven game.

Of course, it takes its time with its worldbuilding but, disregarding some small moments of loredumping in over 300 hours of main story content, I've never felt like the information I was being fed would turn out to be useless.

The writing team masterfully crafts a narrative over several expansions where almost no lore bit is left for dead, moments stick with you long after playing them and the characters and their words are going to live rent-free in your head for the rest of your days.

The game is of course not without flaws, even the length might turn off some people, but if you're ever in the market for what I would say is one of the few single epic (in scale) fantasy adventures and you have a few (hundred) hours to kill, pick this up and never look back.

Also, farming mounts is fun and the community is (mostly) very wholesome.

Nioh 2 is the unaccepted evolution of soulslike gameplay.

You're not going to find the amazing vistas from Elden Ring, but what you ARE going to find is an incredibly well polished battle system coupled with very creative bosses and enemy types.

Story and music are also an highlight, although the historical setting and the various timeskips may make the story hard to follow.

It was basically killed by bad marketing and the fact that the average card game player is only able to 1) Buy overpriced packs and 2) Play 1cost -> 2cost ->3cost.

Grab a couple of friends, download it for free, play a couple of phantom draft and then quite after 30minutes because your brain has turned to mush from the possibilities.
