Its one of the best base builders (time wasters) around.
Pro:
The tech and systems are great
If you want changes you can mod it, or easier download a mod
You can make it as easy or difficult as you want.
It doesnt eat up your harddisk
You can play alone or with friends.

Maybe the graphics are a bit 2010.

It maybe a early access, but it is fun to play and it clearly has potential to grow to something great. Do not yet expect it to be bug free yet though.

Well, I would not play it for 3000+ hours if it was not fun. Its a free game and you support it with cosmetics so nothing stops you from trying the game. If you need help just ask around there are enough players willing to help. Ask me if you need information. Or just join a guild.

It has a lot of crafting mechanics so a steep learning curves
To really enjoy it it works better with friends
Loot drops visible for everyone and that can cause issues if playing with others
You need a lootfilter to get the right items
Building a good character needs a lot of experience or a buildguide
There are scammers, so be careful.

Life just became more complicated...

Well its Europa Universalis from Paradox :) If you do not know it by know your not part of the hardcore conquer the world team !

Multiplayer conquer the world but you can play it single player as well.
You play as a country starting in 1444, so it is never a equal start because some countries are stronger at that date then others.

If you want the full experience you need all the DLC. Or you join a multiplayer game where the host has all the DLC. Because than you only need the base game.

The DLC are a way to extend the lifespan of the game, not just to make more money for Paradox.

I enjoy the game, and I hope you will too.

First I love the game, it has a fun storyline and loads of humor.

Its a good game to play with buddies
You can shoot and loot all the stuff you want

Disadvantage, the loot is shared so when you play with other people they can pick up the stuff you want.

Crusader Kings 2 is a great game, what is there not to love about conquest, seduction and murder.
Build your empire and see it crumle when you die. Get frustrated and rage quit or succeed and enjoy it.

The negative side is that its not easy to learn and it takes a long time to play.
Secondary is always the discussion about the DLC's The base game is already a great game. But Paradox likes to support their games for a long time and CK2 is one of those games. That means that they do add functionality, for free in patches and not for free in DLC. It makes sure that Paradoc can create great games in the future and make good games like this, great games.

I have all the DLC. Be aware that during sales the DLC is much cheaper.

Last remark, Vikings are awesome.
