I really enjoy this game. But there are still so many little annoyances that makes me grow frustrated and stop playing. The desirability metric for housing is all kind of messed up. Houses automatically upgrade which is SUPER annoying because suddenly a bunch of houses are demanding resources that you may or may not have at the ready, and they eat those resources until they're done upgrading. Once they're upgraded, they have a higher standard for desirability, and if that standard isn't met (not enough food variety, not enough luxury items, not enough decor, etc.), a whole string of houses will suddenly be marked as "this house will be abandoned soon!". And then comes the mad scramble to try and find out what desirability standards aren't being met, most of the time it isn't something that you can fix quickly enough, and suddenly everyone in those houses would rather freeze to death outside than just live in slightly less desirable conditions. And you lose a bunch of citizens in one fell swoop if you can't keep up with the new desirability demands after the houses upgrade themselves without asking. I'm playing the game for the first time in about six or so months, started a new save, and I have about fifteen houses currently on the verge of being abandoned after already losing a bunch of citizens to a raider attack. I'm playing on easy mode because I want to have a chill hunter gatherer experience. Having a desirability metric makes sense, but the way it works for this game makes no sense at all and I hate it. Frustrated me enough to close out the game.

It's a great game, and I have a lot of fun with it. However, until the broken AI (logistics) is fixed, I do not recommend playing it. A well designed logistics (core of the game) is ruined by poor citizen choices as to where to obtain goods. Travesting half of the map to get the flour directly from the mill while a warehouse just next to the bakery is filled with flour literally to the roof? Frustrating. (100% it's not incorrect warehouse settings). When it's fixed, it will be a great game and I will be happy to come back to it and I will give both thumbs up!

This game has some of the best bones of a city builder game I've seen. It really nails the satisfying balance of arranging your city in a way that's both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The progression from year to year as everything/everyone grows really makes your city come alive.

The game needs improvement with its raider mechanics and end-game. It's fun that the raiders pose a threat to your city, but they currently feel pretty mindless and more of a nuisance. I like progressing through the tech tree, but tying that to victory too feels a bit arbitrary. That said, I'm really excited to see where it goes next and revisit it.
