I had a lot of hopes in this game. However, it still has many bugs, some of those bugs also erase all your progress. And I don't mean losing your current run. This bug erases all the things you have unlocked so far (this game is a roguelite). This has been reported months ago and there has not been an update on it. Until this problem is fixed I can't recommend playing this. There are people who has lost 30 hours of progress because of this.

Very relaxing, even with flames around you and a generator nearly exploding <3

Interesting game. Too bad it has progress breaking bugs which until today have not been solved. Bugs which should have been fixed years ago still break this game's progression with the only option of restarting the WHOLE game from the very start. Do not waste your precious time. Watch a gameplay on youtube and be done with it. If devs are not interested in fixing, you should not be interested in wasting time or money into this. And it really saddens me, since the theme, story and game in general was very promising.

A somewhat controversial game from Frictional Games. Be aware that this may not be the exact same original Amnesia experience, which can be good or bad depending on what you are looking for. Some gameplay options have been removed, and anothers have been added. Storywise is great (although it leaves room for more questions) and expands the original Amnesia lore. A true sequel to Amnesia, unlike Machine for Pigs.

The game is very story centered and the paths you can take may be a little bit linear. Also, monsters, although great in design, don't seem to share the same flexibility as the original Grunt, which would search for pray and take unexpected paths. This is the sad part of the game when compared to Amnesia, which used to encourages exploration on some levels.

Despite this, the game has been polished in other aspects, and it shows improvement with what they have learned in SOMA (which i also highly recommend). For example, the main character is much more alive, reacting to situations and moving differently as changes happen to her (sry for being ambiguous, as I don't wish to spoil the story). Also the sceneries are much more varied, as compared to the original.

All this being said, and even though i would recommend you to play it, I don't feel it is as great as SOMA or the first Amnesia. Has a nice story, but gameplaywise is not as great as latest entries.

A good thing is that this entry, as the original Amnesia, has the possibility to play customs stories, which would add to the fun.

Having SOMA and Amnesia as 10/10 in my list, this new entry feels like 7 or 8. Is a great entry but not as solid as the latest two games.

This game is beautiful in all senses. The gameplay, the puzzles, the visuals (which i will say, instead of graphics, it has art), the music; everything this game offers is absolutely wonderful and well made.

The mechanics of the game are simple but powerfull. You have a gun with two functions: one is to create clones of yourself that will mimic all your actions in a sense of movement, the second is to "swap yourself" with you clone. This is important because your clones can die, but not you, and the clones can't use your gun. Each puzzle will make you think and exploit the posibilities with your clones to reach places, press buttons, and use obstacles and gravity to your advantage.

The game itself is genius when it comes to teach you advanced techniques that you can perform with your gun without the use of dialogue.

The story is mindblowing. A really good psycological science fiction story that gives a sense to the use of your gun, the Swapper. Believe me when i tell you, that your mind will be twisting to find what is really happening in the story, and you will need a replay or two to get absolutely all the detail and comprehend what the story is telling you exactly.

Few games reach the quality of this masterpiece. A "must play" for your game library.

OK, IF you have played Diablo II, and you are expecting to get a similar satisfaction from this game, don't try it. Better go buy Torchlight II.

First of all i must say that i got this game in a bundle for free, not even with that i managed to like this game. I wanted to like it because, c'mon, is you vs lots of monster aliens to kill. But the flaws are just to much for me to even enjoy it.

First, the curiosity is what makes you play the first levels. But after a while, you realize the game is just walk-kill, and is not even that rewarding, most of the time you will get items you can't even use, and most of your money will be spent in repairing. And when you got the money, there is actually not much to buy. There are not many weapons.

The mechanics of the technological weapons are not explained at all. And that reminds me, the interface is... not really good. You will be guessing what all those numbers and symbols on screen means in the first 40 minutes of play.

i didn't get as far as 3 biospheres or whatever they are called, not a single boss. Pity.

The mouse interface is a pain too, sometimes you will be fighting to get a tiny pistol or med kit that was droped on the floor. And that reminds me that if you are not carefull, you will be missing some items on the floor because they are hard to spot most of the time, i wish the had left the "alt" key as a toggle key.

No stashes, no place to keep things stored, no secrets or hidden places.

Story is not good, if there is any.

Music goes with the mood of the game but is not good either. i belive there is only two background music pieces.

After a while of playing it, you will be playing with some kind of strategy using run/walk, hiding behind objects to ambush the aliens coming for you, but after a while of doing it, it gets awfully boring.

I know the developers put a lot of effort in this game, it can be noted, but is just a big "no" for me. The graphics are probably the best thing here. And for me, thats exactly the problem. It lacks good gameplay, good story, good music, even good ambient, i didn't feel inside a spaceship, neither a biodome.

If you don't give a damn about the things i mentioned, and just want good graphics (for 2005) and just go around maps killing everything at your path and destroying objects to complete your missions, feel free to play it. I strongly advice playing a demo, or looking at gameplays before buying it.

If you care about any of the details i mentioned, you won't be able to play this game a lot, is just plain boring and repetitive, no surprises, no misteries, just go around killing. Once again, if you played Diablo and you are looking for a similar experience, go for Torchlight II.

There are few horror games that can withstand the pass of time, because horror changes, it has its own life force. Amnesia, however, it's as scary as it were when it came out. It plays with your fears of survavility as you got nothing to defend yourself from the horrors. The ambient is perfect and it plays with the light and sound to give you a complete immersive atmosphere.

Frictional Games has stated its position as one of the best (if not THE best) horror game developers with it's three horror art pieces: Penumbra, Amnesia, and SOMA.

If you are a horror game lover, this one, along with the other two, must be in your collecion.... even if later you have dificulty to continue playing it, as the horror of getting once again in the worlds that Frictional Games has created for you are too much for your mental strenght.

Nomination: I have, therefore, nominated this game for the "Fear Masochist" award, because this games strikes fear in our minds even with the thought of playing it again, and with all that, we still continue to play it. "We love getting scared".
