Wasn't afraid to make a black joke, as soon as I heard it. "Ya sunova ♥♥♥♥♥, I'm in.". We need more games that aren't afraid to make jokes about "sensitive" topics.

ARC Raiders Review

Introduction

There's not much I can say that others haven't.

Comparing ARC Raiders to Other Extraction Shooters

I tried other extraction shooters like Tarkov because I liked the idea of them so much, but in practice it was way too demanding and punishing to play; which is fine, if you like that.

ARC Raiders, however, pushes you in the deep end and somehow dives in to save you at the same time.

Player Interactions: Solo vs. Duos/Trios

Solo players will more often than not find friendly, non-hostile players. You'll spot each other, maybe do an emote, and just carry on with your day.

Duos/Trios, though, you're more likely to be shot on sight before you ever see them. I could go off on a whole psychological rant about why this happens - maybe it's tribal show-off behaviour.

Risk, Loot, and Loadouts

It feels pretty bad to die the first couple of times, but then you realise... it's not actually that bad. If you run out of loot or crafting materials for a loadout, just bring the free loadout. It gives you a weapon, a small amount of ammo, a shield, and some consumables. The only real tradeoff is a smaller backpack and no "safe" slot.

Squad Play and Community Experience

If you're friendless like I was, you might be wary about filling your squad when matchmaking. But honestly, everyone I've met (who ended up on my squad) was friendly and communicative. I've even had times where someone downed me, felt bad, used a defibrillator to revive me, and then we extracted on the metro together, never to see each other again.

Why ARC Raiders Stands Out

It's these moments, plus the sigh of relief and thrill of winning a battle and not even having enough space for all the loot, that make this game a great choice for veteran extraction shooter players or scaredy cats like me who can't hack Tarkov or the other hardcore games.

Visuals and Worldbuilding

The mix of bright colours and ruined worlds is brilliant. ARC Raiders blends hope and devastation perfectly - the environments really stand out, with shattered buildings and old tech set against vibrant skies and detailed landscapes. Every place feels alive but battered, a reminder of how humanity's struggling with the ARC threat.

Colours, lighting, and detail help each map feel unique. You really feel like a survivor in a broken world, and whether you're sprinting down empty streets or poking around overgrown ruins, that sense of scale adds to the tension and optimism. The world isn't just static either - you'll find signs of old battles, collapsed metro stations, and leftover bits from failed resistance.

All of it shows the hope of humans working together against the ARC (who are the actual enemies), and every little detail makes you feel like you're fighting back and not letting the world slip away completely.

Sound Design and Gameplay Immersion

The sound design in ARC Raiders is exceptional. Every sound is engineered with purpose - footsteps, weapon reloads, distant gunfire, and even environmental noises. All of them keep you on edge and fully aware that you’re never truly safe. The audio direction does an amazing job of making you second-guess every move and listen for subtle cues.

One moment still stands out: I heard another player nearby, equipping their weapon behind cover. Knowing he was close, I purposely switched from running on concrete to sand to make less noise and avoid detection. That tiny choice made my heart race, and it’s moments like those, created entirely by the soundscape, that really set ARC Raiders apart.

This game gets you thinking, it's quite fun being able to decide how your farm gets efficient. After upgrading, you feel great that you can do more. BUT, you have to adapt now, your code in order to be efficient with your new content.

It's very fun, I'm looking forward to sharpening my adaptation skills with this game.

Final thoughts: Very fun game, which hones skills that translate to real world coding.

Beautiful story which has so many branches. You're very in control of how the story goes, you actively shape the story and you can be a great or disastrous impact on the world around you.

The PC Port is quite well done. It's hard to remember which key is where in those tense moments between life and perma death for the character you're controlling. Even for a terminally online PC geek.

This game is absolutely mind blowing. It makes use of split screen setting for yours and a friend's character, and does it so well.

You feel needed and you also feel dependant on your friend at the same time.

It's an experience that comes with the benefit of only one person needing to buy the game. And for that I praise the devs so much. Thank you for this great experience devs.

Title: Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 - A Patchwork of Dreams and Disillusions

Pros:
- Progression Perfection: The new progression system is like finding a legendary item in a sea of commons – it's a game-changer. Starting fresh is the key; think of it as a New Game Plus for your brain cells.
- City Life: Night City now feels like it's had a shot of adrenaline. I can be the merc I was born to play, and the city's heartbeat syncs with my trigger finger. Immersion level: Cyberninja.
- Modding Magic: The devs have handed us the keys to the city with their modding tools. Now, every choomba can tailor their dystopian experience. It's like a cyber buffet, and we're all invited.
- Stability Surge: Remember when 1.0 was a slide show? Those days are gone. Now, I'm cruising through Night City at ultimate settings, and my rig isn't even breaking a sweat.

Cons:
- Dialogue Dilemma: Sometimes, it feels like my choices are just illusions, like a broken vending machine that only serves one flavour. For us roleplayers, it's like being a street samurai forced to use a plastic katana.

Verdict:
Cyberpunk 2077's 2.0 patch is like a well-crafted cybernetic arm – mostly powerful and precise but occasionally hits the wrong button. It's a neon-lit step in the right direction, but there's still some fine-tuning needed in the dialogue department. Roleplayers, keep your expectations in check, but for everyone else, welcome to the renaissance of Night City.

Rating: 4/5 – Because even in the future, nothing's perfect.

Helldivers 2 has changed my viewpoint after playing for 245 hours. The crashes and bugs have gone from tolerable to not even worth restarting the game after you have to end the task because you're stuck loading screen again. They introduce patch after patch but their list of known issues always stays the same.

Helldivers 2 is a relentless rollercoaster of chaos, camaraderie, and comedy that left me breathless and grinning from ear to ear. Building on the foundation of its predecessor, this sequel takes the Helldivers experience to new heights, offering a gameplay loop that's as addictive as it is exhilarating.

At its core, Helldivers 2 is a parody masterpiece. From its tongue-in-cheek propaganda to its hilariously over-the-top dialogue, every aspect of the game is dripping with satire. It's a loving homage to classic sci-fi tropes, wrapped up in a package that's equal parts homage and hilarity. Whether you're fending off hordes of alien bugs or accidentally dropping a supply pod on your teammate's head, there's never a dull moment in this delightfully absurd universe.

But it's not just the humor that makes Helldivers 2 shine. The gameplay loop is where the real magic happens. Jumping into a mission with a squad of fellow Helldivers is an adrenaline-fueled thrill ride from start to finish. The strategic depth of coordinating attacks, calling in support, and adapting to unexpected challenges keeps you on your toes at all times. And when everything comes together in a perfectly executed plan, the sense of satisfaction is unmatched.

What truly sets Helldivers 2 apart, however, is its commitment to player agency. With a vast array of weapons, gear, and abilities at your disposal, every mission feels like a blank canvas waiting for your unique brand of chaos. Whether you prefer to unleash hell with a barrage of heavy weapons or take a more tactical approach with stealth and precision strikes, the choice is yours. And with the addition of new customization options and gameplay mechanics, the possibilities are endless.

In conclusion, Helldivers 2 is a must-play for fans of cooperative shooters and sci-fi comedy alike. With its addictive gameplay loop, hilarious parody, and endless replayability, it's a game that will keep you coming back for more. So grab your gear, rally your squad, and prepare to dive headfirst into the chaos. The galaxy is counting on you, Helldiver.

Amazing story, beautiful world. Bikers, and Zombies. What more could you as for?

Maybe a little better work polishing the port from PS. The menu is a little bugger as it's meant for controllers it doesn't impact game-play. Just aesthetics.

This is not the same game I played in 2016/2018. This game now is like one of those crappy league of legends rip offs on mobile, filled to the brim with unneeded crap which bloats the experience out. Filled with so many cosmetic different purchases. The main menu has become a cluster*uck of nonsense.

They bring out a new god, which is very overpowered to get people to buy it. Then they nerf it in the next update.

My old favourite game, has turned into this... I am saddened

For players who didn't play this growing up and don't like the rugged old fashioned style. There are so many mods on the nexusmods.com website which bring it up to date with the fallout 4 loot menu etc.

This game is great, fun to play, very different to current fallout games 4/76 in terms of gunplay. Which takes some getting used to for us who joined the series a bit late.

I've got 13 hours in, and I feel like I've got so much more to see; which I'll get to now!
