This game was absolutely stellar from beginning to end. Every stage introduces new mechanics that are gradually expanded upon for the rest of the game in really creative ways both in combat and puzzle-solving. Gorgeous pixel art and some catchy tunes round out the package really well.

I'm still working my way through all the different "paths" in this game, but so far it's hit me in ways not many games have. It plays around with many different mechanics, but the writing stays consistently excellent throughout in both drama and humor.

If you're at all curious after watching the trailer, I'd say it's very unlikely you'll be disappointed by picking this up.

As a big fan of Smile For Me, I've been looking forward to this game since it was announced, and I'm very happy to say that it lived up to my high expectations. Absolutely bursting with charm from beginning to end.

Every bit as fascinating and darkly delightful as the first game, now in a more modern wrapper. I really enjoyed the occasional callbacks to the prequel, but I think newcomers to the series will enjoy it just as much.

Once again, I wish there was a "neutral" option on Steam reviews. The only reason for this temporary thumbs down is the amount of bugs I've noticed just in my first run of the game that directly hurt the tactical feeling of encounters. It ranges from visual bugs (garbage nonsense text when inspecting tags on a whole enemy faction - what does the Native tag mean? Who knows) to some weapon mods and skill upgrades not working at all (Instigator not increasing sync damage of allies, healing skill not triggering, etc.) I'm still getting through the game just fine, but it feels like I'm being punished for spending resources on things that aren't helping me at all, and relying on them to work correctly has put me in some rough spots.

I really love the foundation of this game, and I'm sure it will be something I can come back to and recommend to people after a few patches, but at the moment I'm probably putting this down for a bit.

The combat design, visuals, soundtrack, story, and basically everything else about this game are absolutely top notch. Do be warned, though - the final boss is brutal, but if you enjoy the process of spending hours learning a tough fight, that'll just be another positive for you.

I played through this absolute gem at launch, and after the recent Tango Gameworks closure I realized I hadn't given it a positive review yet, so I'm here to fix that mistake.

If even the team that made this S+ game isn't safe from Microsoft's short-sighted admission of defeat, I've completely lost faith in that company.

Dragon's Dogma 2 is a weirdo game for weirdos, and it's absolutely not for everyone. But it's also one of the most interesting gaming experiences I've had in years.
