I'll excuse mediocre gameplay for great music and visuals, but thumbs down just for DK West. These sections have bad gameplay, bad music, and go on longer than they should.

Oy, EA! Use the money from these battlepasses to fund Titanfall 3!

DioField is a 10 of a 7. It's a shame Square probably won't make something like it again. Loved its atypical JRPG party. Teaser for any Gundam fans who are considering playing it: McGillis Fareed.

“Hey, you know that annoying light/dark mechanic from the DMC reboot that they eased up on in the Definitive Edition? Let’s triple-down on that.
People play DMC-likes for the combat? Let’s triple-down on platforming/puzzles and story/cutscenes.
Melee combat… let’s add several floating enemy types that are all about projectiles and teleport to the other side of the arena.”
- some dev who misunderstood the assignment

Despite the thumbs up, I very much dislike this game and it was a chore to get through. But it’s getting a thumbs up because we need more devs taking a swing at character action games.

Just play FFV. It does the job system in a much better way. Or maybe go with the Pixel Remaster with its quality of life features. However, this game is neat to go through as a XIV fan.

It's magical Crackdown. Also probably my favorite Infamous game. Traversal is excellent. Running around a beautiful post-apocalyptic world to find bits and bobbles that make you run around better is a solid loop.

Pro tip: definitely set support magic to auto-select next spell to reduce menu time during combat.

Atmospheric puzzle platformers are for hipster turds. But this one actually has something to say and incorporates the main gameplay mechanic as a narrative device.

Just stick with Borderlands 2 unless you've done everything in that game and the expansions and you're really jonesing for more Borderlands. The solid bones of Borderlands is there, but the little things got to me. The moon gravity is novel at times and in certain areas, but mostly annoying. It alters the feel of movement and there are a lot of flying enemies. Getting a "Second Wind" is harder to get when an enemy floats off behind cover you have no hope of getting around. Bosses also felt like they relied on adds more than previous games. Also the campaign didn't hand out any interesting or unique weapons to tease you for the post-game loot chase. Borderlands 2 is my most played game on Steam; the annoyances of the Pre-Sequel had me uninstall it as soon as I beat the campaign.

I bought this game based on Eurogamer's review which evoked that the game was more aking to an indie Devil May Cry than it actually is. DMC this is not. There's no freedom/creative expression to combat. It's call and response. That's it. Shoot when the game wants you to shoot, parry when it wants you to parry, and so forth. That's all well and good and it works for what it's going for. It's just not for me and if you like stylish action games, it's probably not for you either.

Let me just say this before I get into anything. Not my kind of game; I'm into Demon's Souls, Vanquish, games that are games. But this is free and can be completed in under 20 minutes so I decided to check it out.

I hated this narrative walkabout, non-game, non-sense. "Oh, but it's in the same vein as The Stanley Parable which was so terribly witty and meta," you may say. To that, my response is, "Bite my ass." This narrative walkabout was an annoying and obnoxious 18 minutes. The only good thing I can say about this "game" is that I now know I never need to play The Stanley Parable because I will likely hate it just as much.
