AI in your squads lack a brain and stand in the open, telling everyone where you are...
Questionable players as some shots are made through multiple rows of bushes and walls? Hacks maybe?
Buggy servers, laggy as hell...
Tech tree requires you to research the previous item if added to the game, before continuing on your original path...
P2W - most in progression, but there are some items that are questionable...
Speaking of Pay 2 Win, EVERYTHING IS WAY OVER PRICED. The Chaffee, is 4200~ gold, or 42USD, for 1 tank, and crew... Where do you get these prices from?!
Horrible map design...
Faction balance? What's that?
Oh, and store items are WAY over priced.

All n all, has potential, but to much bs to give this a thumbs up... Like every other Gaijin game in existance.

Question to all those before me and those who are looking into getting this game... when was the last time you've seen any game release with no flaws, or issues?

Being a recent port to PC, expect flaws, expect issues, expect potentially game breaking bugs. Reporting it here doesn't help anyone, as being detailed in your reports to the devs would bring more than having it in a review. Being detailed, reporting the errors word for word, helps them in solving common issues.

That said now I can get on with the actual review.
The game deserves a thumbs up, the graphics are actually decent, for how detailed the world is, just need to take a step back and look for a moment. Every now and then the terrain detail shifts and throws me off, but the map, the world as a whole is actually quite nice, the trees, plant life, city life, and so on match quite well, with well populated towns that are actually busy, giving some level of immersion.

Ignore the graphics issues, the problems with the game and you are left with a great story and a good world. Just give them time to develop it further and a chance. This game was release 13 days ago on Steam (from 3/10/25 to 3/23/25), and so far I can say that I'm having fun.

Alright, so there is a lot to take in with this story, that I've noticed that a lot of people cannot understand or comprehend, because this is the 'GRIM DARK' future of 40k. Humanity is fighting for its life to survive, all other alien species (xenos) are also fighting, but resources are scarce, each faction worships different deities or leaders, and some of these deities, like the chaos gods, just wants to wipe out humanity through their influences on individuals that you may run across, but never suspect to be on the side of 'enemies of humanity', a lie can sounds like the truth and the truth can sound like the lie, point being, is- trust, no, one.

You want to go through the campaign as a nice person, you can, but you will run into more problems, especially issues on your colony worlds. A world falling into chaos, or elements of chaos are present on your ship or even in close proximity, can present issues, may even attempt to kill you, or bring you on their side. The Inquisition is very strict in how people perform their roles for this reason, if you do something that may benefit the enemies of humanity, you will be branded as a heretic, even if you didn’t think of it at the time that it wasn’t wrong, it can be very wrong in the long term, being nice, can also be very cruel, and unknowing of the severity of the threats of the universe at large.

Suggestion to people who do not understand why humanity is the way it is, and the faction you serve is a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? Do some lore diving! Trust me, it will be worth it.

As for the game itself, it is a huge recommendation, however there will be moments that the game is confusing, as in like the missions are not well marked, secondary missions are not on your objective window, and having to scroll though the hundreds of missions can take some time. If I were to say anything to the devs, please, for the love of the god emperor, have a mission tracking system!

Early Access Review
Early Access, so keep that in mind.

There is A TON of promise here, the game is excellent in both the feel of the world, and the combat within it, you feel more connected, involved in a way as explosions go off, glass shatters, the hostiles circle in on you, and the only way out is to fight. With the level of destruction included, adds to that- as everything is not only interactive, but also to a degree have a means to degrade or break.

Game is hard, but it doesn't take much to learn the tactics of the AI, later difficulties I would recommend the use of cover and always keep on the move while covering your flanks, otherwise the AI WILL encircle you, the issue is, when.

I only have a few negative about the game is the spider bots, and it is a common theme here. The maps are far too small for swarmer like mobs that move extremely quick and there is no means to dash away or dodge. If your character could... i don't know, sprint? This probably would be more manageable. But these little buggers coming out of vents, boxes, walls, everything, attaching themselves to your allies and stabbing them, while also exploding, gives a disturbing atmosphere. As the entire station is being ravaged by these things (as you will see in the rooftop section of the game).

The other would be the lack of allies- its empty, the city, the station, feels dead. You run into allies that were once alive, and only once (so far) you see one, only for it to be exploded by a mine-crawler. Only thing you interact with so far is the health vending machine, but that's it.

Other than that, its a fantastic game, and would recommend.

Update 9/28/24

Alright, now we have the major update finally released and a lot has changed.

Now there are a lot of good changes, some are quite odd to tackle if you're used to the old system and personally I like what they have done.

Firstly they have done away with the locks on upgrades, meaning you can keep tweaking your characters equipment, without playing the slot machines in hopes that you get a good roll. You still need a good base equipment, but it is less RNG, which I welcome.

Secondly, this can come off as a good or bad change, some of the classes were reworked, I need to test this further, but from what I've gathered, Zealots are less tanky, Ogryns now are a bit more tanky and do slightly more damage, Veteran seem to be more accurate with hip firing, less RNG and the rifles seem to feel snappy, less sway to them. I have not tested Psyker, I will soon, but other that, so far some of the changes are nice, I need to do more testing to come up with a finalization.

Lastly, the changes to mob spawns and rate feel unchanged, they are still a bit excessive, and now I've been seeing some weird spots that mobs are going too. There was one location that on a bridge, a sniper had funneled us down into 1 spot that you cannot get too. This made the run fail because during that spawn of the sniper we had a plague Ogryn spawn. This combo with a impossible counter sniper, which contributed to the failure of the mission.

Other than that, there is a lot here that needs to be tested, but so far I do like the overall changes that this update brings to the table, it brings flexibility in weapons but not so much in character development as some of the skills, if not most remain untouched and a not recommended selection in the progression tree, this builds for meta-building, which is troubling. If I were to suggest anything, look at the skills that are being used less in upper difficulty, and might want to increase their effectiveness, otherwise you will continue to see similar builds for various classes in the game.

On 5/5/24, Sony has retracted their update for PSN requirement, according to PlayStation network announcement on Twitter (or X, what ever you want to call it).

I will honor my agreement where I will shift my review from a Negative, to a Positive. I would also ask for the others who took part in this event, to do the same. Thank you Arrowhead, and the community for your continued dedication towards a game that we all care passionately about.

Despite the fact that this was originally Sony's fault, I will also like to extend a thank you to them, as they could have continued on without a care and drag the game into the ground, thankfully they didn't. Just remember Sony, and the rest of the publishes out there, we are watching, and we are SO tired of back handed tactics, we've seen it time and time again and we're tired of it.

Infinity Siege is a decent game with alot of potential but riddled with glitches and bugs, and feels incomplete, as if the game was designed to be early access, honestly it probably should be. There is alot of unfinished content, sound bugs, visual bugs, and FPS issues regarding optimization. However, it doesn't entirely take away from the fun of the game, as unrefined as it is, Infinity siege is quite fun, reminds me of Fallout in a way but limited to your outpost as you wonder around the waste looking for scrap that could potentially benefit you and your team in the long run.

I'd say try it out, as it may get better from here, as the team seems to be aware of the issues that plague the game, and no telling what other expansions may arise in the future.

With that said, I will recommend the game, but expect issues, glitches, and some silly and cringey voice acting with reused dialogue.

Early Access Review
Reminds me a lot of the original Deep Rock Galactic, it's a good concept, a great early access, and with the possibilities that this can go are nearly endless. I would recommend this game to anyone, but keep in mind there are a few issues, not many in bugs but rather game play.

Suggestions?
More game modes, pleaseeee more game modes, there's only 1 game mode and its kill elite, kill elite again, kill it two more times and then kill the big baddie! This gets boring, fast. If anything, I would say play though the original DRG, and understand the various game mode types. You have 'oil' extraction, minehead platform mode, normal mining, escorting, repair minehead, and dreadnought hunt with various other modes like deep mining.

Another idea is to have an ability to have a survival mode, and add endless expanse, the grid is quite small, not a lot of space to move in.

Finally, I would recommend to have players to move at their own pace. What I mean by this is, when I kill the Elite, I should have the ability to continue the fight, or call in a drop pod. Currently, its once it is defeated, it's over, no time to collect or mine, just move on and you're done.

Oh and also, add Multiplayer if possible...

Regardless of all of the suggestions, there is a lot to work with here, and it has a lot of potential! DRG was a masterpiece, this game has A LOT to fill, yet also has a good source of lore and reusable assets that would fit in perfectly in here.

Simple yet really well made game, something you do not take seriously, you make a mistake which will happen, you will die a few times, but what matters the most is to have fun and keep trying. Teamwork, being fast and efficient, and keeping your mindset where this game is a joke and meant to be fun will keep you playing without burnout, that and Rock and Stone every 5 seconds, because there isn't enough Rock and Stone to go around.

Rock and Stone miner, Rock and Stone.

in every way better than Warthunder and World of Tanks. Sure the game has alot to improve on, but the game is based around the era of the vehicles were implemented, for now its around the 80's, as M1 Abrams the M1IP or IPM1 known in warthunder, and the M2 Bradley IFV- though should probably be renamed to the M3 Bradley because of the lack of infantry- for now.

If you want to get a feel of realism, without the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of bias and premium p2w vehicles, then this is the game for you, just keep in mind it JUST came out, and more is to be expected.
