Big fan of the base game. Most my play time is just the base game. Planning the base, keeping my favorites survivors alive through waves of enemies, struggle to horde every bit of steel in the world. Big Fan. I've played with and without mods. Small quality of life things are really the only ones i use still and I think they implemented a couple of them so they probably arnt even relevant anymore. I loved the base game so much I had to get the Ideology DLC when it came out. It was fun. Added a few cool things but overall, not worth the purchase. When the Biotech DLC came out i was hesitant but again, freaking loved the base game so I had to. This DLC replaced one of my favorite mods which added clean/hauler bots. The bots are very helpful for maintaining a base and allowing your survivors time to do more important task or, ya know, enjoy their lives before being assaulted by cannibals, enormous bugs, or man-killing robots. However, I hardly utilize any of the Ideology DLC now so that purchase seems more meaningless than before. Neither DLC adds enough to justify the additional cost when the content could of just been added to the base game, or a mod. With this next DLC coming out, I can confidently say I will not purchase it. The base game is enough. Add a few mods, more than enough. Pile on the 2 existing DLC. You're getting bloated. Adding more content that doesn't really seem to align well with the already existing content. Fat and greedy. If you are thinking about buying Rimworld. DO IT. STOP READING. DO IT NOW!!! If you find you enjoy the game, put 1000hours into it and got money burning a hole in your pocket, consider the DLCs.

Fun and simple. Some of the characters are clearly better than others but each has a fun twist to them. The potions leave more to be desired. Only 1 or 2 of them are regularly useful. The others can be helpful sometimes but i haven't found much use for them. overall, worth giving a try.

Enjoyed the time I played and I will likely play the game on and off for the next several years. Anyone looking for a simple Colony Sim should take a look at this game. Full price is a bit much but grab it on sale and you'll have at least a day or two of entertainment.

Simple yet challenging. Plenty of things to do that will keep you busy for many hours.

The game is easy to learn, and it's not too difficult. Can spend many hours just planning out a city.

Freaking amazing game. I personally only played local so I can only speak from a single player point of view. However I still had a blast. I played 70hours and still only explored 1/4 of the map and they add new contest all the time. The underwater parts of the map are AMAZING, even with 3 megalodon bodyguards I was afraid to dive to for more than a few seconds. My only two compaints about this game so far are the resource gathering and how easy it is to die from running down a hill side. Since I played local i could up the amount of resources gathered and lower the health of the nodes. Still I spent hours gathering not to mention how hard it was to gather large amounts of oil. I could had set the node respawn to several minutes but that seemed like cheating. I highly recommend this game, but please don't run down hills...

This game is my childhood. It never gets old. I've played through probably 5 time and run the first act dozens of times.

OMFG I LOVE THIS GAME? It's not actually fun but you can't not enjoy every second of the game.
