Leap Year is a delightfully clever puzzle-platformer with a good main mechanic and one that doesn't overstay its welcome.

The goal of the game is collect all 29 calendar boxes (though you don't need to get them in order) by touching them while both your feet are on the ground. In my experience, this took about an hour and a half with the rest of my playtime dedicated to cleaning up what achievements I missed.

The main conceit is that there's only one action you can take aside from basic left-right movement: jumping. The trick is, falling two or more squares will kill you on the spot in a game where your jump height is exactly two squares. This means that you need to plan out your route through each screen of the game and use the geometry in order to make sure you can survive.
Aside from that information, you should go in blind. Leap Year's structure allows for some wonderful eureka moments where things will click into place and suddenly you'll be seeing each screen in a new light - particularly one instance right before the game's end that had me audibly complimenting the developer's sick, twisted mind.

Though short, Leap Year is also fairly cheap - just under five pounds for about two hours of gameplay (maybe more, if you're new to puzzle-platformers or need more than a few attempts to get the speedrun achievements) is a good enough deal if you're looking for a fun way to spend a rainy afternoon.

Cassette Beasts is the best monster-collecting game I've played. Ever.
While that may seem like a sweeping statement, it's entirely honest - it hits the perfect blend of story, gameplay and customisation that I look for in a game, while not being particularly expensive or being a hundred hour titan (I had beaten the main story by the thirty hour mark, and that's taking my time to explore!).

First, the type system is far more interesting than the classical 'super-effective/not-very-effective' you'll see in many games in this genre. Instead, elements have specific interactions with other ones - hit a Glass monster with a Metal attack, and shards of glass will be scattered across the battlefield, dealing damage to anyone who tries to make a melee attack. Using Fire on an Ice monster will cause the ice to melt, making them change to a Water type - said Water type can then be hit by Ice to freeze them and turn them back into an Ice type, which makes them flinch.

The world of Cassette Beasts can only be described as brilliant. New Wirral is an island full of mystery and wonder, with secrets and surprises around each turn. I consistently ran into things that made me momentarily stop in awe or got taken off-guard by a monster doing something completely unexpected that made me decide that I had to record one of those suckers. Your NPC partner will also have things to say as you go to various places and interact with different things, which helps make you feel a lot less lonely in your travels.

And yes, 'record'. Not 'catch'. See, you're not actually collecting monsters like this was a Pokemon game - you're using your cassette player to record monsters onto empty tapes, and then playing those tapes to transform into the recorded monster. This is the next part of Cassette Beasts's genius, and it's that you're not just standing to the side and giving orders in fights - you're doing the work, simply taking on the form and powers of your recorded monsters. Combined with how you'll always have a fully-controlled companion with you as you explore and fight, it makes things feel so much more personal than they would otherwise. You're not worried about Kayleigh's monster getting electrocuted, you're worried about Kayleigh herself.

This is also a relevant mechanic in combat. Once your monster form runs out of HP, you revert to human until the end of the round when you can pick a new tape. In this time, you still have your own HP - if you're defeated in human form, then you don't get to choose a new tape and that fighter's out of battle completely. This also applies while you're trying to record a monster, since you automatically turn human when using one of your blank tapes and can be have your efforts disrupted by being hit by attacks.

I haven't even touched on the plot of the game, but I don't think I will beyond saying that it's a damn good one. Cassette Beasts demands to be experienced firsthand, and I think using a guide or having forewarning worsens the experience. (Of course, there's no shame in breaking one out when trying to complete your Bestiary in the post-game - some of those remaster conditions are really quite obscure.)

Oh, and did I mention you can fuse with your partner on the fly and get a unique form based on both of the monsters you're transformed into? Because I have now. There's over sixteen thousand different fusion sprites, and I myself have only seen just over a hundred in forty hours.

Play Cassette Beasts. You won't regret it.

This DLC is easily the best one, not counting WOTC because that one's gigantic.

Shen's Last Gift adds a new pre-determined mission into your XCOM 2 campaign: Operation Last Gift.
This mission has your squad, led by Chief Engineer Shen (she takes up one of your squad spots and is a Colonel-ranked Specialist, so plan accordingly) venture into the Lost Towers to find the source of a strange transmission.
I won't spoil the mission, but you should bring someone with Shredder and preferably Bluescreen Rounds.
Either way, after the mission you'll unlock the ability to construct SPARKs and get one for free.
SPARKs are big robots with big guns and big health pools, allowing them to soak up damage and automatically have the Shredder ability and a Heavy Weapon slot. They have neat upgrade trees, but I wouldn't recommend getting more than one - only one SPARK can be repaired at a time.

In WOTC, SPARKs are not effected by the fatigue system because they are robots. I would suggest picking up the Mechatronic Warfare mod by NotSoLoneWolf on the Workshop (https://v1.steam.hlxgame.cc/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1499767042) as that gives SPARKs a new upgrade tree that I feel is better than the original.

In conclusion, this is a really good DLC but it's really not neccessary.
If you've got money to blow, pick up the Reinforcement Pack - you'll get Alien Hunters and Anarchy's Children as well for less money than the DLC costs individually.

This is for people who want to play with the character customizer and make pretty soldiers.
I want to play with the character customizer and make pretty soldiers, so I like this DLC.
It adds a bunch of new cosmetics and throws an extra soldier into the mix to sweeten the deal.

Do you not care how pretty your soldiers are and just want more gameplay?
Spend your money on something else, like saving for the Reinforcement Pack or WOTC.

Indie Pogo is an interesting game.
As a backer to the game's Kickstarter, I received this game a couple of days before it came out - giving me time to get a good opininon on the game.

This is an auto-jumping platform fighter, where you cannot stay on the ground and actually fight simultaneously. All characters have 5 unique moves and a selection of techniques that can be used by all characters.
These unique moves are: An up-air, neutral-air, down-air, grounded charge and Super.
The air attacks usually go in the direction that they are pointed in, but some are gimmicky and will take some getting used to.
The grounded charge allows one to stick to the ground to charge up an attack - usually upwards.
Finally, the Super is charged up by getting combos of attacks without touching the ground and usually have powerful effects.
All characters can also use the Pogo Attack - landing on an opponent's head makes you jump off of them but does not count as touching the ground, so you can extend your Pogo Combo.

There is an online service, as well as local and solo play. The solo play includes character-specific Challenges and an Arcade Mode. All these modes earn you coins, which can be used to purchase stages, character skins, taunts and
new characters.
A word of warning though, you only start with five characters: Blockman, Jack, Penelope, Stardrop and Lilac. The more complex characters, such as Welltaro and Viridian, have to be bought from the Shop for coins.

If you decide that you want to play Indie Pogo and would like to find people to play with online, then the Indie Pogo Discord is a great place to start - https://discordapp.com/invite/tsp22Hd
Also, if you want to learn what the characters are capable of or don't know whether something specific is in the game or not before you make your choice then there is a fairly comprehensive Indie Pogo Wiki available for your reading pleasure -
