The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 is a 2nd generation subsonic swept wing jet fighter from the early cold war era. Designed by the company Mikoyan-Gurevich based in russia, or at the time of the MiG-15, the United Soviet Socialist Republics. With superior altitude capabilities, climb rate, acceleration, and speed, plus its heavy armament (23/37mm cannons), it posed a formidable threat to the American F-86 Sabre and many other western fighters of the time. It saw extensive combat in the "MiG Alley" in the Korean war, located in the north western part of North Korea, where UN Pilots and Soviet MiG-15s often times got into dogfights with eachother. While many question the actual effectiveness of the MiG-15 (and it's later variants), it was without a doubt still a formidable foe for the west in the age of early jets, even with its many flaws, and would've posed a far deadlier threat if its pilots had similar training to American F-86 Pilots.
