Ignoring all the performance issues, microtransactions, and controversy, how is the actual game?

I absolutely loved DD1. Very unique and creative RPG and there hasn't been anything that really scratched the same itch. I was extremely excited for DD2 and to see what they would do. Turns out they did... Nothing?

There's only a handful of new bosses and content. The vocations are mostly the same. Combat doesn't feel any better. It's pretty much the same game but slightly prettier and runs much much worse.

The vast majority of your time in DD2 will be fighting 4-6 goblin packs on your way from one fetch quest to another. Not fun. Main quest isn't interesting and is just fetch quests. Story is lackluster. Really not all that much to like.

DD1 was an amazing and creative game with a few flaws, and DD2 is pretty much identical, with the same flaws, plus you get microtransactions and horrible performance.

pretty fun game, really shouldn't be $40 though. I got it for $3, I wouldn't pay any more than $10. Fun gameplay and funny characters, it's ok.

For a free game, no complaints. Fun gameplay, pretty good sountrack, meh story and visuals. Pretty good.

PROS
Good combat, provided you have mods
Good quest, provided you have mods
Nice graphics, provided you have mods
Expansive cities and characters, provided you have mods

CONS
Game is considerably worse without mods.

10/10 with mods, maybe an 8/10 without.

Great story and immersive and diverse gameplay, sure to provide endless hours of engrossing and engaging entertainment. It has a complex and deep story with emotional moments and characters you really get attached to. I recommend this for anyone from casual gamers to professional no-lifers. You are sure to enjoy.
