Looks bad, plays worse. Incredibly boring, uninteresting and extremely uninspired.

Total goblin annihilation. Kill gobbies. Behead gobbies. Roundhouse kick a goblin into the concrete. Slam dunk a goblin baby into the trashcan. Cactify filthy gobilins. Defecate in a gobbie's food. Launch gobbies into the sun. Toss gobbies into active volcanos. Gnome throw gobbies into a woodchipper. Twist gobbies' heads off. Report gobbies to the Base. Highlander chop gobbies in half. Curb stomp pregnant gobbies. Trap gobbies in quicksand. Crush gobbies in the trash compactor. Dissect gobbies. Exterminate gobbies in the gnas chamber. Stomp gobbies' skulls with pepper-enhanced boots. Cremate gobbies in the oven. Lobotomize gobbies. Mandatory abortion for gobbies. Vaporize gobbies with a wizard gnome. Kick shaman gobbies down the stairs. Feed gobbies to lava. Slice gobbies with a wolf-buffed sword.

While not the pinnacle of Doom-derived games, it's far better than I was expecting, and quite a bit better than similar games on Steam that have received sequels. The weapon selection is somewhat limited, as is the enemy variety, but the core gameplay loop is fun, the music is solid, and the aesthetic is amazing, the visuals do a great deal of the heavy lifting and make it a much more enjoyable experience than it might otherwise. A solid 7.5/10.

Fix the spider's web attack, ffs. After your screen clears your unable to attack unless you swap weapons, and given that your stamina is likely already drained you won't realize it until too late.

Beyond that, decent game. Weight system is incredibly annoying and I would've preferred a limited inventory mechanic instead of being flooded with items yet never knowing what I'll need, when I'll need it or if it'll even be worth it at all.

A great game for the price point it's at, and a phenomenal one at the price it tends to be when on sale. It maintains a high standard of care throughout the entire thing, and while it's not perfect (I experienced one or two bugs that were a bit annoying) the flaws it does have are fairly minor.

Solid game, but I cannot support the devs going down a path to chase console sales at the cost of the PC players.

EDIT: Awesome, EPIC servers are now also a part of this game and are crashing already. Horrible.

I recently bought and replayed this on the Switch, going all the way through NG+ on there as well, and unlocking all characters (I think) in arcade mode. I really enjoyed my time with this fairly straightforward title, and while I know the story isn't all that popular I certainly enjoyed it (though, I do have a penchant for cheesy anime-esque stories, lol.) and NG+ was especially a blast to play through, especially with the true ending. I'd recommend this game in a heartbeat.

It's a solid game. I'm a little disappointed after how much I loved the remake of System Shock 1, but that's not Nightdive's fault. I find most aspects of the remake to be better beyond just the graphical and gameplay side, the writing especially. Being an insect in the guts of Citadel against the godmind AI Shodan was more interesting and fun to me than running around the Von Braun in this game. I'd give it a solid 7.5/10, I've played worse but I've also played a lot better (To no fault of Nightdive. This is a great remaster, and I only encountered one "serious" bug, that being no audio on the ending cutscene.)
