Surprisingly addictive!

I'd definitely compare it to the same kind of excitement I also had for Balatro, albeit with an atmosphere that is much more focus on making you feel pressured and/or claustrophobic (Which is clearly the intended mood the developers was going for, anyway.) If you're looking for more games like that, I suggest giving this a go!

Genuinely a good time if you're just planning to faff about with a couple of friends. Both in collecting pals, exploring the map, and... Y'know, maximizing the exploitation of colorful mascot animals. All good fun, 8/10.

It's been 17 years later, and I'd honestly still recommend it.
Sure, the lack of updates had been a struggle for me as much as everyone else, but the activity from the community alone is worth the experience imo. I've spend countless of hours enjoying the different custom servers, and without a doubt have met most of my online friend groups through there. So if nothing else, at least give it a try for that specifically.
