After some digging in my system, It turned out to be Process Lasso that was causing the issue. Since I have 32 threads with this 1950x TR, I use that program to manage processes so that I can still use my system even while compiling or rendering. I had set it up long time ago to run through batch file started by the task manager so after disabling it the game worked great.

As for the game itself? It is really good. The story and the cinematic cut scenes are way batter then the previous games and it shows that a lot of effort and attention to detail has went in to its creation.

Now that I found the game error was my fault, I can easily recommend this game especially given that it has been hard to put down.

-- Old Review --

Probably the worst experience with a broken game in the many years I have been on Steam.

View the many topics in the discussions about people crashing and avoid this game at all costs. Save your money.

This game refuses to start with the error:
"C:\jen_noAV\711_prod_S\Development\Kore\AkAudio\Src\AkAudioDevice.cpp(315):Assertion failed:NRSErrorf Could not init GNRSAkIOHook".

There are some forum posts here and there complaining about the same error but none of the fixes have worked for me. Since this is the only title that has trouble starting then reinstalling Windows is not an option. There is something very wrong with the PC version of this game and it doesn't look like there is any work happening to correct it.
