Good for about 30-60 hours, then you play it in 30 minute intervals

This is probably the most "whatever" fallout game ever. I started playing at the point people were claiming it's at it's peak, and that's kind of sad if true. Huge potential, but it falls on the lower end of fallout games for me. It's probably the ONLY fallout game that i have yet to finish the main story of, what little it has. If you enjoy mindlessly grinding and doing the same things over and over again for a smidge of xp, this game is fine, but even then you're better off doing radiant quests for Preston Garvey in fallout 4. I LOVE base building, but even that is still "whatever" in this game. With the junk system and how you need to pay monthly for access to the scrap-box to be able to store enough junk to build anything decent looking, you're once again better off playing fallout 4. Maybe this game is more fun with friends, but if you need other people to make your game good then it feels like less of a fallout game.
It has its redeeming qualities, though. The community is surprisingly one of the nicest you'll see in an online game like this. Being able to play as a ghoul sounds awesome and really promising for future games- even if the ghoul customization is lacking and unfaithful to how ghouls are MEANT to look.
As mid as this game is, i still plan to sink a hundred more hours into it, such is the case with games like these.

I don't know why my playtime for this game won't update, but i have spent wayyy more than 9 hours playing this game. It's not my favorite fallout game, but i have played through it twice (once un-modded and once during a TTW playthrough) and it is very charming. It can feel a bit empty and tedious at times, and i wish the enclave had more of a presence in the story, but it's whatever. It's definitely the middle of the road when it comes to fallout games, not the best and not the worst.

I have about 120 hours on this on xbox on top of my 90 hours here, so i've played this game a decent amount. Was my first fallout game, i dearly love it and i'm glad it introduced me to the franchise. I'm a sucker for base building and character customization, so that combined with the charm of fallout makes it perfect for me. After going back and playing all the other fallout games, i wouldn't say it's the best in the franchise, but it's certainly the most friendly to an idiot like me who takes super long to grasp game mechanics. Highly recommend.

Gameplay is practically the same as fallout 1, but theres minor adjustments that make it better (like being able to deny encounters when traveling). BUT there's still so many important quests that no person could reasonably do without a guide, with items that are impossible to find without checking EVERY. SINGLE. CONTAINER obssesively in the game,, but the story feels like it pans out better and the characters are enjoyable so i don't feel like i'm being tortured AS much. It also gets extra points because talking deathclaw companion is awesome.

Not fun.. I somehow managed to play through the game without talking to the master even once, i just walked in and blew up his base. It feels like a game you would force someone to play to torture information out of them. It's so easy to just miss important items and information. If you're coming from newer fallout games to play this, it'll be impossible for you to play without some sort of guide, unless you want to bash your head into the wall over and over again until you somehow do the right thing. despite what some diehard fans might say, it's such an unpleasant experience that even the charming dialogue and stuff can't save it, you're better off just watching someone play through it to get the story. Go play fallout 2.
