For a $4 game, this is more polished than most simulator games that have come out recently. I've played through a little less than half the game at this point. Some of the balances don't quite make sense, but they don't hinder the gameplay in the slightest. Some better items cost less than their lower star counterparts. You also unlock some items well before you need to actually use them. Also, it has better zombie killing than Black Ops 7.

Servers are at max capacity. . . Try to host a game, and that's what you get. Just want to chill and play some bots with the boys. Weapon unlocks and XP farming is also painfully slow. Could be worse... could be COD.

Unplayable

There wasn't a neutral option, so....

The early game and the late game are two different play styles.

The first 90 hours for me were a story filled solo adventure. The occasional neighbor may yell over his mic at you for settling your base "too close" to his, but these were few and far between. The game lets you have the freedom of movement with different skills, jet packs, etc. At moments, it's an action adventure RPG that highly rewards exploration, at other times, it's farm simulator, and the rest of the time, it's a great base builder. The PVE aspect is great, but that's where it ended for me.

The end game is neutral. It is based around guilds and group play, which is something that wasn't incentivized in the early game. There was no benefit to grouping up earlier in the game play loop because it just required more materials. All tier 6 materials are in a PVP zone called "The Deep Desert". It functions as more of a extraction looter shooter than a survival game. It's a free for all zone, even if you're the same faction as one another, and is plagued by fast moving scout ornithopters equipped with rockets that shoot most things they see moving including farmers and explorers unlucky enough to walk out of the occasional safe zone. PVP fighting in a building is super cool, but the current meta is literally just using rocket launchers.

The bright side to this is that you don't miss much content by avoiding the Deep Desert, but once I hit the point of going there, I had completed everything on the main map. Most points of interest are similar to each other. If you've cleared an Imperial Testing site, you'll probably be able to navigate well through others.

Can't wait for the full game. Great demo!

What can be said...?

The story is done very well, and the fighting feels great and fluid. All of the characters are viable for solo play and seem very well balanced. The failure of the game is the crashes and random frame drops that remain until you kill a specific npc. Playing on a 3090, I get around 1 frame every two seconds, but you will continuously take damage as if you're still in normal combat. I purchased this at 50% off, and I still feel like you should wait for a deeper sale.

It is a solid game that is continually updated.

I enjoyed it. It's a middle ground game. It's not horrible, but it's not great. Didn't run into any performance issues. Found a few bugs. All in all, not bad. Check it out while it's still free.
