This game is basically as close to Dwarf Fortress as I can handle, and I love it for that reason.

Early Access Review
Surprisingly good for being both Early Access and an indie title. Strongly recommend, atmosphere of the game is spectacular and is a good deal of fun with friends.

Honestly I didn't play this game until many years after it came out, and it has completely blown me away. Paradox is one of those rare developers that breathes life into their games long after they are released. I'm happy I finally started playing this game, and look forward to many more hours in the future!

I honestly enjoy I:R, but I get some of the criticism. Unlike many Paradox players however, I thoroughly enjoy I:R. This is understandably my own opinion, but it's good to know it comes with me having played hundreds of hours in HOIV, EU4, and Stellaris. I am confident this game will get better with time, as all Paradox titles do.

Been playing this game reliably since it came out over two years ago. My first grand strategy courtesy of Paradox, and definitely not my last. Love this game!

Update 11/2022 - 6 years post launch and this game remains top tier and one of my favorites, amazing support by Paradox to keep this game fresh after all this time.
