I bought this game with average expectations since it's in Early Access.
However, it has more depth than your average EA release, and so far I've been enjoying the early stages of the game. I have restarted a few times having learnt my mistakes in city planning. There are quite a few ways you can go into the game, and each approach is valid. Some QoL changes are needed, especially for work assignments and housing (I want my fishermen to live in the huts near their jobs, I want to be able to re-assign them from their apartments in the city centre).

Overall, it's very enjoyable as is. Certainly better than the Anno counterpart.

Great game. The scenery is beautiful, the story is good. It's not open world, and gameplay is repetetive.
Solid 8/10.

Need some balancing and more depth, but as EA title, worth the money. With updates, this can be gold.

Quality of production is surprisingly great. And the price is on point.

Great sim game, pull through the initial grind, once you setup your employees: it all clicks. Has a surprising amount of depth.

UPDATE: Changelog looks like made by a single person. Massive F-U to Fireaxis, won't ever buy your games again. Boring and void of love.

Game was pushed out as an MVP.

Unique mechanics, great potential for improvement, will likely be the ultimate 4X game for the new few years

Better than Diablo IV in every way I care about.
Worse than Last Epoch in regards to gear progression, economy, and QoL features.

It's a flawed game, with potential. If you are a fan of previous STALKER games and can mod your game, I recommend getting this.
